Hoping to see Rodwell and/or Verrips. Just for something different to watch ey.

To be fair I'd probably be alreyt with seeing Knilly starting at this point
You're calling for all these guys before you'd play Sharp? have a look at last years game and see what Sharp does that nobody else in the side does.

No Basham??

I smell pork.

Thanks for that. Or, to explain my thinking...
Bash in a central 2? Not for me.

Also, as a CM I think we have better options.

Bash as a RCB - All day long. He has been neutered a bit this season as we don't have the balance on the left hand side. This means we can't make overlaps / numerical overloads as we aren't switching the play, just loading up on one side which makes our system sooooo much easier to predict and therefore defend.

Or, I may be as you say, pork 😅

Aha mate I'm happy with whoever gets picked, I'm not about to stop supporting the team because of one bad season! I'm also a big fan of Skip's and think he should have more involvement but as per usual, I'm just trying to take a bit more of a light hearted look at it all!

If Rodwell wasn't enough of a hint at it being a joke then I thought Knilly would be 🤣

The season is going to be turgid enough already without taking it too seriously, no sense making it worse for yourself mate just enjoy it as much as you can and be thankful we're alive ey!

I'd start with Mousset and get him to burn himself out over, say, 15 minutes. Would like to see Veripps given a chance: I know that would demotivate Ramsdale but imagine how demotivated Veripps (or however you spell it) must be watching Ramsdale flap around.
Neither of course will happen.

UTB for a 1-0 win.

Suddenly Bash is worth a start in midfield, I cannot remember anybody wanting him anywhere near the midfield back in the first, championship and last season in fact he was one of the first names on the team sheet by everyone, we need support in the back three because Robinson doesn't look up to it, taking another regular out to play elsewhere? For me that is change for change sake, and madness, in my opinion.

Or Ramsdale came off his line to catch the ball as no Everton forward was anywhere near
Sure, call out the scapegoat. Most others do.

There is absolutely no reason a GK needs to come and claim this cross. It should be dealt with by the CB.

I don’t think we will change tactics but

I would be tempted with

ramsdale
Baldock Egan ampadu Stevens
Basham Norwood
Bogle mcgoldrick Burke
Mcburnie / Brewster

See if that helps - Basham can drop back into 3 CB if required. Gives us some actual pace to support the attack with.

To be honest I've no longer got any bloody idea what we should do. I was well excited by the Everton line up, it was exactly what I wanted. The resulting performance was bloody dreadful, so I don't even know what I want now.

One thing I keep thinking though, is, how bad must Jack Rodwell be?
He's : 29, 6ft 2, has over 150 premier league appearances under his belt. He can play in midfield or centre of defence.
On paper he should be the answer to a lot of our problems, yet he can't even make the squad. I'm thought through sheer desperation he might have been tried at: LCB, RCB (with bash in midfield) or in Dm.
He must be an absolute shadow of what he once was. To be worse that what we currently have is impressively awful.
I was thinking exactly the same. If he can’t even make the bench in our current position it does seem pointless having him in the squad. Might as well save on his wages.

🤣 Only messin.

Understandable reasoning. Bash gets pelters as a midfielder. Things are desperate when folks are desperate to get him in there to take charge.

Also shows how he's just about the only guy people trust to go there and put a shift in.

Cant play Robinson if we are serious about picking up points, the guy scares the absolute shit out of me in a way that I've not experienced since jay mceverley showcased his lack of ability in 2015.
