Assuming Collins is out I'd be inclined to agree. Still not seen enough of K Wallace to say whether I'd have him over J-Mac at LB. But I think it will be

-------------------Howard

Freeman---Edgar---McEveley--Wallace

Campbell Ryce--Baxter-Basham-Adams

----------------Sharp--Sammon

Or possibly even Woolford in for JCR.

Preferences/suggestions?

I'd go;

- - - - - - - - - - - - Howard - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Freeman - - Basham - - Edgar - - McEv

Cambell-Ryce - - Baxter - - Wallace - - Adams

- - - - - - - - - Sharp - - - - - Sammon - - - - - - -
I'd do exactly the same mate.

Howard
Freeman, Edgar, K.Wallace, McEveley
JCR, Basham, J.Wallace, Adams
Sharp, Sammon

It's evident from our options where we need to strengthen; CB & RM.

Never read Viz but I knew I'd heard of Billy the fish from somewhere.

I don't know whether Wallace is ready for a league start yet, I'd stick to bringing him off the bench till around mid september. Let him build his match sharpness and confidence up slowly, last thing we need is him breaking down.

Edgar and K Wallace central for me.

Got to be, hasn't it?

A genuine, attacking 442. Has the prospect of being an insanely open game (not that I'm complaining).

That's where we're at a disadvantage, Adkins knows how fit Wallace is, we don't. It may be that he starts with him with a view to getting an early lead and dominating Blackpool. We can't let them build any self belief and feel like they can get something out of the game.
So maybe start with J Wall and bring K Wall on when and if we have a comfortable lead (or when J Wall starts blowing out of his arse).

Fair point, but with KW on the other day we looked assured and we scored, we also scored when JW came on

You might have a point, maybe go with JW while half time and push Bash back.
But if we go with Kieran and leave Bash in midfield I'll have no problems either. Think even McEveley should have a field day here

Don't understand why so many feel we should play Basham at CB, he's much better at CM.

Playing a not so good player in position is more effective than playing a good player out of position personally.

By the sounds of others on other threads this game will be a doddle, so I figured I'd put my name in the hat. Reckon I could do a job.

It's a case of what options we have given we still haven't signed a (permanent) CB. Not that he'll ever be fit, but is Kennedy ruled out? 45-60 with McEveley at LB then bring on Wallace could work

Looks good to me. McEv for me looked good at left back against Chesterfield - was on the kop to the left and toward the front and got a good view of some of the stuff he did, including a couple of superb curling long passes.

Is Collins defo out tomorrow?? If he is, have we any other fit proper centre halves (Kennedy, McGahey ??). If we haven't then it's either McEveley or Basham filling in at cb. Tough one, given the level of the opposition (that comments bound to come back and bite me on the arse) I'd be inclined to put McEveley in at cb and MacFadzean at left back (or Freeman to left back and Alcock right back - although that's f***ing about with the defence too much). If they put Basham back to cb, then J Wallace is a good replacement, although I've heard Adkins is treating him with kid gloves, at 30 minute bursts.

I'd suggest tomorrow just highlights how much we need another proper centre half at the Lane. Clough should take most of the blame for that as we had a full season last year with fill-ins but Adkins has had a full summer to sort it.

Agree with that but I would suggest maybe K.Wallace in at CB and McEveley LB.

Similar problems to last year at the back. Losing one player shouldn't mean two changes. Adkins will have to move JMac or bash meaning another change. Should just be a straight replacement which highlights the fact we still need another CB

Agree with this. Be nice for Kieran Wallace to make his home debut. He deserves his chance. I bet he's dreamed of this from being a young boy.

Yes its set up to be pure Roy of the Rovers. I hope he scores a hat-trick on his full debut.

Don't know if I've mentioned it but Adkins obviously doesn't come on here and take my advice. :(
