Done is getting a lot of criticism and he didn't play great but both Freeman and EEL were far worse today than Done.

I don't think CW intended to play the way we did especially in the first half. Oldham pressed well for 50/60 mins reducing our opportunities to pass out from the back. Once they tired we had more time on the ball and could play our game.

No they haven't. That mean we're home and hosed?

No it doesn't but that wasn't your original point. Your original point was about how Bolton keep winning no matter what state the pitch is in. They've won less than us so I'd argue we're better at winning, regardless of the state of the pitch.

Lafferty getting called up might have cost us 3 points today.

You've got to think he wouldn't have let their player get in behind him like Done did for the goal.

We were also robbed of points by internationals with the Walsall home game. They were to be without as many starting players as we were today (1) yet that one got postponed when they were in poor form and we would've almost certainly beat them.

Just another reason to get out of this wank league.

I bet Bolton win more games than we do between now and the end of the season. They are animals we are pussys.
That isn't a dig at us but at the vinegar stroke you have to be cuntlike.

Wrong tactics today we should have played our game which has served us well over the season on ALL surfaces.

I understand why CW decided to play the way he did, but it seemed to me that the players went over the top with it. It's one thing to hoof when you get the chance, but we did more (actually less) than that.

Every time the ball was coming in our direction aerially, either from their clearance, or after it had bounced, we made no attempt to control it. That meant loads of weak headers where we just gave the ball straight back 10 yards away. It just felt wrong, half-hearted hoof really.

When Coutts eventually came on, he seemed to do OK on a bobbly pitch and we looked more likely to get a winner than they did.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing and if we'd sneaked a 2-1, everything would have been great. In the end a draw was fair, but if we'd tried to play proper football and lost, the tactics would have been wrong. I feel it's another game we might have lost last season.

Ugly as fuck, but it "worked" (in the same way that the changes in personnel at Bristol Rovers worked).

Did Oldham have a serious attempt on target other than their goal?

Probably a calculation involved that a point, against dangerous opposition on that non-league pitch, was always going to be a good result.

When are you changing your name to Maxnpaddystattoo ?

I agree, we're that bad we're only 4 points clear after 39 games. Are you sure that's not a dig at us? It certainly sounds like it

SBT mate are you sure you're not overreacting a bit?
Yes ideally we would have wanted a win but we got a draw and are still ahead of the pack.
The way you're going on you're making it sound like we were hammered by four or five and are destined for relegation.
Now if we lose the next three ............

Coutts Woeful??

Really??...come on. Not one player can be called Woefull from the 4th game onwards. He might not have been superb like his level has been pretty much all season, but woeful?

Nah...I'm not having that mate.

I'm his biggest fan mate. But on bad pitches he really seems to struggle. Oxford first half he must have misplaced 10 simple passes.

For me he's the best midfielder in the league. But on bad pitches he just struggles to cope.

Is it just me that think JOC could have done the job at LB instead of Bombscare.

I'm not gonna say I could do better but I'd have gone flat back 4 of JOC JW EEL KF

I do like to see JOC go on his long runs and his delivery is as good if not better than Laffertys

Well I for one was shocked to see that the Oldham goal came through an attack down the left hand side, particularly as we had Done as left-wingback. I mean who would have predicted this as as a problem?

Luckily this error should be rectified by the return to our usual line-up and end result in the next game.

Done got sold on the pump fake for their goal. He was pretty bad, but so was EEL and O'Shea for the most part. Nobody particularly had a good game though imo. I think Chris wanted to make some changes but by making those changes didn't want to change formation too, which is why Done played.

Is Lafferty a defo starter for tonight? If not he can play on Tuesday

So, just to summarise, we've got some expecting us to win every game, some in panic mode and SBT on his Saturday night rant.

Fucking wank thread.
