Brooks in for Clarke is what I'd like to see personally, but I suspect Clarke will come back in. Talk of shifting formation from Wilder today might be a deliberate misdirect.

Would be a bit unfair on Leon, but I think you're right. This game could be a good one for young David. I'd be a bit scared of him getting clattered though.

That was my thinking, along with the fact he's bigger and Madine needs buffing, also, save super Jake for the weekend n it gives us a good look at CCV .

Think it will be the same with Leon in, which will help us defensively against their set piece/hoofball style.
Also, if we presume a change at CB to add more height I'd think Heneghan at 6'4 would come ahead of CCV at 6'1.

There's definitely a case for Carter-Vickers to start. It wouldn't surprise me.

Other than that it should stay the same apart from Clarke for Donaldson. If Clarke isn't fit enough to start and Brooks starts instead, then that increases the possibility of CCV starting, to compensate for Clarke's absence at defensive set pieces.

It was interesting that Boro ripped them to bits with the pace of Traore so maybe we do the same and use Brooks to test their slow defence.
We wont win much in the air against their giant side so maybe need more guile and trickery - and our boy has that in abundance !

Agree 100%.

I've been thinking about this a lot since earlier and have changed my mind. We need a bit of height to combat their aerial threat too, so maybe a case to rest Sharp.

Tactics aside, arguably Brookes has done better than Leon anyway this season. Like for like, no question Leon and yes, they are a very physical side, I just think this is a good game for him against a pretty static Notlob.

We haven't conceded many while he's been between the sticks, but how much of that is down to him and how much is down to the defence? I like Blackman - he's got a good reach and a good kick, and seems to be a decent shot stopper, but on balance I think I'd feel safer with a fit Moore, who proved his worth last season with some terrific saves.
