Presumably Leon is using the remaining 2 bench slots to entertain your missus?

Duffy must have just looked at you funny or summat.

Agree. Why in God's holy trousers would anyone not want to start with Duffy who is on fire at the moment and will be itching to get one over on Clough and prove him wrong for binning him after he got promoted with Burton ?

I'm sure Duffy thinks it's thr best thing that ever happened to him (Clough binning him) but he will still have that professional pride and want to get one over on Clough.

If Duffs in the mood he might tear Burton a new one. I bear no malice to Clough (just indifferent to him as he wasn't up to getting is promoted) but I would love Utd to stuff his team on Friday night and having Duffs in the team will definately give us a better chance of doing that.

This 'Why change a winning team?' talk is a bit naive I think. The Championship is such a blend of styles that we'll need to tweak it sometimes. Horses for courses. A Hull City at home and a Burton away are two very different fixtures and should be treated as such. I wouldn't have a problem with Sharp instead of Brooks but to say 'Bring Brooks on if we need a goal with 15 minutes to go' is a bit daft... Who is more likely to come on and score with 15 minutes to go? I'd probably say Sharp.
Didn't Brooks come on as a sub against Leeds with 15 minutes to go and score the winning goal? I agree with the logic that a Brooks sub appearance by no means equals a winner, but I also don't think it's a daft proposition either. In general i'd rather we had our two top goal scorers starting, so therefore Sharp and Clarke with Brooks coming on later against tired legs.

I'd actually be interested to know Sharp's goal scoring record coming on as a second half sub.

I flat out disagree with the old cliche of never change a winning team. It's closer to superstition than tactics. On the other hand, given the international break to rest up the players, I expect an unchanged team. Can never be sure with Wilder, and he's certainly got the options available. I'm sure him and Knill know more about how Burton set up than I do.

If Baldock is fit, I think he will play. If Blackman is fit, it will be a tough call for the keeper position but I'd expect Wilder to stick with Moore as he hasn't really done anything wrong since coming back in and even got an assist in the last game.

The other decision is if Baldock does come back, who gets left out. Unfortunately I think it will be Jake again with Basham resuming his usual role and CCV moving back to the middle. It's a shame because Jake's done nothing wrong either.

1st glance I thought WTF. 2nd read I thought yeah there's merit in that. Donaldson could be the ace in the pack for this game and he'll be chomping at the bit. Stearman's got to come back soon and he slots straight in with Bash covering for Baldock. Duffy, Clarke and Brooks fresh as daisies for Tuesday night. Yep, I'll go along with that too.

I wouldn't be against Stearman starting at all and wouldn't rule it out either.

I'd bring Blackman back. Can't see Brooks or Baldock coming into the eleven at this point, especially with three games in close succession.Maybe at Fulham.

We have to remember we are playing 3 games in 8 days and hopefully Wilder will have learnt something about his rotation.

However for tomorrow, if Baldock is fit then Wright misses out. If not fit same team as last time.

Ideally we need to win this game early.

I guess the ref will insist on 90 minutes?

:)

We struggled really badly at qpr for several reasons; including our failure to adjust our style to a smaller, tighter pitch and a well drilled defensive line. It will be interesting to see what we learned from that defeat collectively and individually; Holloway did Wilder tactically that night and I really hope Clough doesn't tonight.

That's a good point but unless Clough sets out for a 0-0 draw then Holloway is streets ahead of him in the rest of tactical play, so you can relax a bit on that issue. By the sounds of it Brayford is out as well so we don't have to worry about ex-players biting us in the arse either.

Wright in for CCV (due to his exploits playing for the USA on Tuesday). Other than that, it's as you were!!!

Blackman will be in goal as the break to his back and severed spine is not quite as bad as first feared.......o_O
