If every little word of every single post had to be to do with the thread title, there wouldn't be any threads on here. You said Reed is hopelessly out of his depth at this level, a player who has played for his country before, a very young player at that, now whilst he has a long way to go it is clear as day he isn't out of his depth so go and pick that sandwich up. Pure genius, how ironic ;)

Oh and 'btw', there were plenty of threads before you came here, damn sight better ones as well.
 
Bladesman that's the only teem he could go with we have coutts, flynn, calvert Lewin,Reed, cuvelier,scougall,Wallace basham and done all capable of playing in a 3 man midfield so we have lots of possibilities and is not the only team we could go with.

There are many players having played for the England U17's that don't end up making it. The mere fact Clough chose him to start a decent number of games probably had the biggest sway in his call-up. Pinchy might be onto something with the old "bladey blade" line. It seems valid criticism of a player clearly not good enough somehow loses all relevance the moment it's levelled at anyone coming from the academy.

If you have read any of my posts on Reed I stated on many occasions last season that he started well then went badly out of form, this doesn't mean he's shit all of a sudden and it has nothing to do with that silly theory that you mention.

Have you ever praised anything to do with Sheffield United because i haven't seen it?

Anyway, I've just had a better conversation about football with my kid who coincidently knew that Hammond was suspended for the Rochdale game, now we're back on topic lets keep it that way eh, instead of this shitty tit for tat.

Do a little research. He never played for England under 17's, just the under 18's and under 19's. How many times did you play for England at youth level? Clearly you were a much better prospect at 18 years of age.

Barney I don't see how you can rule a 18 year old lad out by saying he is not good enough he is 18? And representing England? He has shown he has good skills and can pick a good pass out the Lad is still only young and will only grow with experience. I understand he is not the best finisher of the ball as he has shown the best example was donny where adams laid the ball off to reed instead of having a shot him self and Reed failed to score. But I am sure that will come in experience as well. Reed could grow into a good player and we will only know by letting him have a good run in games. For you to rule him out at 1 I years of age is ridiculous.
Has baxter been supplying you with what ever he is on?

What's more he's done all of this by watching him play once in 4 months which is even more impressive.

I'm not necessarily ruling him out, I'm saying on the evidence of watching him play, I don't think he'll go on to have a very successful career. "Age is on their side", "it'll come with experience", you can say that about anyone regardless of technical ability and footballing attributes.

You've got to focus on things like taking responsibility, comfortable and relaxed on the ball, a want to and not being afraid to take it forward, risk taking. Then you come on to the more obvious, things like technical ability, physicality, shooting, pace, heading etc. Just some of the things you need to be looking out for in a potential first team player.

It's no good saying "it'll come with experience", the whole point is to get scouted at grass roots level you need to be showing signs of what you're capable of, otherwise you can just take any old average Sunday League Joe and say "ah, it'll be alright. It'll all come as he gets older." As you might be able to guess, it doesn't work like that.

You are derailing every little praise anyone has for somebody or something to do with the club, I'd love to see some evidence that you are indeed a Blade just to put this to bed but i somehow just can't see it Barney. I'm happy with this assumption just like you're happy to criticise Adkins at every opportunity, not even giving any praise for him taking Sammon out of the team. Just a minimal amount could suffice, then again......

You have to bear in mind that Barney spends more time studying Northampton's signings.
 
Louis Reed is a cracking little player, League One is a tough league for one so small, but I believe he can, and will play much higher.
David Weir had him training with the first team at 15.
Clough gave him his debut at 16, and he was in the squad from then on.
Adkins has used him more sparingly, but hes still involved, and currently in the team.

He has caps for England, in squads full of Premier league youngsters.
People in the game, can see the qualities this lad has, far more than we get to see in the weekly battle, that is League One.
 
I'd play Reed in every game this season, if fit.

It's a big ask, centre midfield for a young lad, but you can only learn the realities, tricks and how to handle the physicality of L1 by playing in these games...no amount of under 21 games can give you that, which is why we try and get these young lad's out to league clubs and playing.

I remember when the Kyle's got their chance due to injury, it took them awhile to adjust, and Walker was a lot more physical at that age, Naughton not so, but both are now established Premiership players...hopefully Reed will grow into the role and be a top player for us next season.

He 'could' be just what we're looking for.

We all know you might pay a few quid every so often, you're keen to tell us of you're magnificently good deed at just about every opportunity you can. Any humble person might think about keeping it to themselves if and when they donate instead of shouting it down everyones throats wherever possible.

Thanks for confirming, triggs, I think you have took everything in on this thread very well. Now where were we, oh yeah, can Hammond play and will Harris, McNulty and Freeman get a place on the bench at Rochdale :)
