So only 4 more days until we put them to the slaughter again. With Ryan leanord now all but signed and more new additions likely throughout the week, who’s going to get the nod Friday?
For me it’s the wrong game to start with any new signings and can’t see wilder doing it. The team near enough picks it’s self for this one, other than a couple of positions.
The team id go with is-
————————Moore————————
——-Bash———-Stearman——JOC——-
Baldock————————————Stevens
————Lundstram———Fleck—————
————————-Duffy————————
————Clarke—————Donaldson——
Subs- Blackman, CCV, Wright, leanord, Thomas, Sharp, Lavery

As much as I like Wright, stearman has been decent recently and for whatever reason wilder just doesn’t seem to fancy him. Only other real decision is sharp or Donaldson, and for me Donaldson offers much more. Also think Thomas did enough Saturday to take Samir’s place on the bench

I expect that exact team.
sufcboy95 Like Steve Blade said, i'd also be surprised if this isn't the team which starts

Though Billy got a lot of praise from Wilder after the game on Saturday, so we may see Billy and Leon start.

As for the bench, i expect Leonard instead of Carruthers and Thomas will no doubt be out on loan

Even if there is no intention to keep Thomas long term at the club, I'd have him on the bench. There have been games where we've been crying out for somebody who can hit a 25 yarder on target and he's the best we have at the moment. Also Whiteman seems to occupy a place outside of the box for corners/set pieces in that area, and recently that's where the ball has been falling without anybody to pick it up.

........................Moore

........Basham. Wright. JOC

Baldock.......................................Stevens

............Clarke.............,, Donaldson

You'd seriously change the formation to an untried one, shift Fleck to a different position, constrain Duffy to a left sided role and potentially expose Lundstram and the defence to counter attacks from the Massive? Glad it's CW and not you picking the side

I expect the OP's suggested line up, but I'd prefer one with Wright in instead of Stearman.

Suspect this will be the starting 11, can't see Sharp in for Donaldson myself.

Personally I think Leonard in and push Duffy up behind Clarke in the 10....we won at the Sty by overwhelming them in midfield and Brooks playing the 10 role just behind Leon.

The team essentially picks itself. Wright won’t be coming in for Stearman, and the rest of the defence and midfield are set. The only area of debate is who partners Clarke. On form, Donaldson should get it, but if there was ever a match for Sharp to be fired up for this is it – doubly so given his injury ahead of the Hillsborough match. He had a decent game on Saturday and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him given the nod – there won’t be any complaints from me if Wilder opts for Donaldson though.

Agree with the Sharp reasoning. He's been crap lately but he will have so much adrenaline pumping through him I think we will see the Billy of old, plus a goal or two from him. He's exactly the player you need in a derby match.

Plus maybe Evans and Wilson on the bench
Are things actually progressing with Wilson? I think Thomas is more likely than Ched for the bench but you never know.
I'm still holding out hope our little runner bean might be on there to tear um apart again.

Not sure with regards to Wilson, although CW did say he expects both Thomas and heneghan to go out on loan so I doubt Thomas will be involved, plus he got a injury against Ipswich. I would like to have him on the bench though seeing as brooks won't be available.

Has to be:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Moore

- - - - - Basham Stearman O'Connell

Baldock - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- -- - Stevens

- - - - - - -- Lundstram - - - - Fleck

- - - - - - - - - - - - -- - Duffy

- - - - - - - -Donaldson - - - Clarke

Subs: Blackman, CCV, Lafferty, Leonard, Carruthers, Thomas, Sharp

Agree with the team after 60/70
Minutes Leonard on for Lundstram. Sharp after 75 for The Don and even Ched if on the bench as an extra striker as we decide to go for the sixth goal

The question over Thomas will be fitness. Went off at the weekend at half time, after picking up a knock part way through the first half.

Only 1 striker at home? I'd be surprised

Have to agree with the OP by sufcboy95
Moore
Basham - Stearman - O'Connell
Baldock - Lundstram - Fleck - Stevens
Duffy
Clarke - Donaldson
Of the new signing(s) - Leonard should/will make the bench. If Evans and Wilson do I come in, I would put Wilson in for Donaldson just off Clarke (a la Brooks at Hillsborough). He'll scare the shit out of their defence.

Yes, it's at Hillsborough.

Apparently, the New Barrack Tavern is the go to place for a pre-match drink.

Have a nice evening.

You the new researcher for The Star ?

They are in desperate need of one, though the New Barrack Tavern used to be a good drinking hole, until the owner bought the Sheaf View.

Can’t see it being any other starting line up....be nice to see a new striker on the bench tho we are short in that department
