Personally, I think we look shattered. I'd rest as many as we can. Sod it. If we go out, we go out. I'd go:

----------------Verrips
Freeman Jags Stearman Bryan Osborn
------Besic-------Morrison--Freeman
---------Robinson --Sharp

Take Besic off half time for Rodwell. Good chance Besic might need to start against West Ham.

I want to see us play 3-2-1-2 for this. Return of the CAM role with Freeman to keep match fitness, i would also give Parkhouse minutes up top (shop window or keep time) with CR, Leon/Sharp on subs bench.

Ravel/Besic at CM, Bryan/Jags/Stearman CB's. KF/Osborn wb's.

Moore
Bryan - Jags - Stearman
KF-----------------------Osborn
Ravel - Besic
Freeman
Parkhouse - Robinson

Parkhouse doesn’t want to play for us and hasn’t for some time. The fact we’ve only offered him a year contract indicates to me we’re not actually that bothered about keeping him and we’ve only offered the contract to make sure we get compensation.
Players have to earn a first team appearance through hard work and actual ability, not by throwing their toys out of the pram and refusing to sign a new contract.

I was thinking the same. Send them off with their families for a long weekend in the Canaries.

I can only speak for Tenerife, and although it’s warm, it’s been blowing a gale here for the last three days.

Cheap beer though and more Full English Breakfasts than you can shake a stick at, which may not be what the lads really need for the second half of the season :)

For those saying full strength side due to best chance of a cup, we draw Liverpool away at any point, based on last night; that chance is not all that great.

Let's just give some much needed rest and take a chance of beating a non-league club with a vastly superior first 11 to theirs. Our full strength side can return in round 4 if we get there.

This.

I'd love to see us win the cup. But our second string should be more than capable of beating Fylde.

I'd love to get whoever is lowest placed in the league at home in the 4th round and do the same. By the time the 5th round comes out we might be effectively safe from relegation.

First XI deserve/need a rest. Play our 2nd XI against Fylde - it should be strong enough for us to win. If we lose, swap our second XI for the eleven that play for Fylde on Sunday, and they can be our back-up players for the rest of the season.

I would suggest going 4-3-3. We don’t need to play the same 3-5-2 formation for all games.

Verrips
K.Freeman
Jagielka
Stearman
Bryan
Rodwell/Morrison
L.Freeman
Osborn
Sharp
Robinson
McBurnie

it’s very attacking, but it should be.

Can someone tell me when a newly promoted club last won the FA Cup?

Not sure it's ever happened. Not surprising really when Arsenal (8), Chelsea (7), Man U (6), Liverpool (3) and Man C (2) have won the competition 26 times in the past 30 seasons (the other winners being Spurs (90/91), Everton (94/95), Portsmouth (07/08) and Wigan (12/13))

This is the best chance of winning of winning a cup for the first time since 1925 and qualifying for Europe for the first time in our history.

UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT:

Full strength team please.

A few weeks ago I said that. But after watching us play against Man C and Liverpool in the space of 4 days and with a home game against West Ham 5 days after this, we need to rest some players.

Beside VAR being in use, the referee for the game on Sunday is Jarred Gillett. It is actually his first season in English football this season - he previously used to referee in the A-League before moving to England last April and joining the Select 2 group list. He was named 5 times referee of the year in Australia. He will have used VAR in Oz, perhaps not how the Premier League have chosen how to use it though!!

More details on him here:

Screw cup competitions we need every ounce of strength to stay up. Put Knill in net and Tufty ont wing.

Verrips
Rodwell Stearman Jags
K.Freeman Ravel Besic Freeman Osborn
Sharp MacBonneigh

That’s what I’m expecting post-Rodwell signing, and I also expect Jagielka to be the one unusual selection – I think it would be a first, as I don’t think there’s been an instance before of Wilder going with a righty at LCB in any of the 3.5 seasons.

One thing looking at that tells me is that it’s extremely different to the strength of side we put out against Barnet, which is an indicator at how much we’ve moved on. The side a year ago:

Moore
Cranie, Stearman, Bryan
K.Freeman, Lundstram, Coutts, Johnson
Dowell
Clarke, Washington

As embarrassing as that result (and performance) was, it would be far more embarrassing to lose with the likely side we’ll have out this time.

Might be an idea to send the first 11 somewhere where the skies are blue a d allow them some much needed r&r.

Let them recharge their batteries as they looked drained tonight.

To have played them in the Cup after tonight would have been the last thing that they needed.
100% agree,

Play Verrips because I haven’t seen him yet

Apart from him, play the under 23s, play the under 18’s, play me and my gran up front, anything, just keep the ankle breaking amateurs away from the first team.

I would love to see the Blades have a crack at the cup, but lets get the Jan/Feb PL fixtures out of the way first then have another look at team selection.

Morrison expected to be leaving, so I'd say Rodwell will play a part in his place.

Thought Moore was injured? - that's why Verrip has been on the bench.

There's going to be a problem when he runs to the side of the pitch to review his decision and asks why the monitors not working only to be told a bloke called Riley has pulled the plug out. :D

Klippity ain’t a huge cup fan and Liverpool don’t play full sides in either competition. Don’t be so defeatist, we’ve always got a punches chance.
Glad to see Wilder say he was thinking of going with a first team but I think he’s right to rest them for this fixture.
