I would play four four two as follows:
Blackman
Baldock. Stearman. O’Connell. Stevens
Duffy. Leonard. Fleck. Holmes
Donaldson. Clarke

I would like to see both Holmes and Duffy running at the oposition defence. Our wingbacks, have not been as effective as they used to be, especially Stevens. If Freeman was fit and Baldock could play LB I would do that. Our front two door fill be with hope at present and if Brooks was fit I would play him up there instead of CD.

Not a bad suggestion but I would tinker with that slightly...

Blackman
Baldock. Stearman. O’Connell. Lafferty
Duffy. Evans Fleck. Holmes
Donaldson. Sharp

I'd be happy with that or something very similar.

I certainly wouldn't play Leonard who, from what I've seen so far, has shown me nothing and has generally been anonymous.

I don't want to be too harsh at this early stage and perhaps he needs time to adjust to a higher league and our style of play but, whilst I was not expecting the new Tony Currie, neither was I expecting the new Paul Thirwell.

Yeah I think he just needs to get to know his team mates. He can't be shite if CW has been chasing him all this time.

Wonder if Brooks will play a part though?

Lafferty - totally agree, he has some pace and not afraid to shoot

Lafferty might not be a bad shout and resting Stevens in this game would not be a bad move.

He had a bad game away in what was a good team performance. Got booked if I recall.

Probably a position to look at upgrading in the summer.

4-3-2-1
Blackman/Eastwood
Baldock Stearman O'Connell Lafferty
Evans Leonard Fleck
Holmes Duffy
Donaldson

This still allows for the double overlap (Fleck round Duffy and then Lafferty round Fleck). Donaldson has pace and size so can either get in behind or hold the ball up. Brooks would be better in the Holmes position when fit, allowing himself and Duffy/Holmes to come inside onto their favoured foot and have a shot or two, both can also find that killer through ball. Brooks and Holmes can probably also run beyond Donaldson, not sure Duffy could.

Leonard to sit deep and drop into the back 4 if needed, Evans and Fleck taking it in turns to come forward dependant on which side we are attacking from.

I like this, two goalies so that they can be positioned on each side of the goalmouth to save the (Wonderstrikes TM) we often allow from outside the box.

OK - my logic

I want to win - so need to create more chances - so Duff. I want to shoot more from range - so Leonard and Holmes. I don’t want brain fade at the back - so no recent Bash or Edna. Result:-

Blackman/Eastwood
George Stears JOC Lafferty
Evans
Leonard Fleck
Duffy Holmes
Clarke

Works for me - Billy, Don & Willo provide different bench options. Edna, Bash, and Lunny cover rest of pitch.

Job done - Magic

Should do a poll amongst the squad asking them to answer "who hates Leeds?" using a 1-10 rating system.

Combine these ratings with a Knill/Wilder 10-20 rating of useless fecker to golden boy

Highest scores selected - there's your team :)

Foolproof!

What could go wrong??

Because we aren’t looking at players above League one.
Well as we signed them we must have “looked at” Wilson, Blackman, Carter-Vickers, Moore, Stearman, Lafferty, O’Connell, L Evans. That’s at least eight players from Premier League or Championship.
