Don't think that's Currie ?? I was there , but could just be a bad old photo ??. .
Yes, it is him. He had short hair until the 1970sI was at that match - it doesnt look like TC !
No, Reece's winner was at the Kop EndLooks like the flying Welsh man to me.
Yes it has to be him ! Not a regular header of the ball that was a rare one. What a debut that was ,remember even now he had the ball on the touchline on the terrace side a couple of spurs closed in on him ,they couldn't tye him down it was clear even then he was a special talent just 18 he was at the time.Yes, it is him. He had short hair until the 1970s
55 years ago today Tony Currie scores in his Blades debut. Blades 3 (B. Wagstaff, Currie, Reece) Spurs 2 (Greaves, Chivers)
Bad grammar isn’t a new thingWhy is the ball an apostrophe
Yes, he playedBernard Shaw,if he played ?
Woodward in the backgroundAgree it doesn't look like Currie - and I don't recall his headed goal being headed down like that that night. Recall him rising above his defender to head home. But it was 55 years ago. That's definitely the reliable John Flynn in the background.
I’m pretty sure it’s Bernard Shaw,i can only assume the Sheffield Telegraph used the wrong photo,my long term memory is good,i just can’t remember what happened yesterday !!Yes, he played
Oh yes. That's right. An age thing eh ...Woodward in the background
Flynn didn't join us until summer 1969
I'm going to commit the cardinal sin and go against Silent Blade on this one. That certainly looks like Bernard Shaw. The Star might just have used the wrong photo.Lesson one lads never question Silent about any Blades history.
I thought it looked like Bernard Shaw but he couldn’t jump that high
Do you dare to question the mighty Silent !!I'm going to commit the cardinal sin and go against Silent Blade on this one. That certainly looks like Bernard Shaw. The Star might just have used the wrong photo.
I can still see him rising to nod that first Blades goal, was right behind the goal.55 years ago today Tony Currie scores in his Blades debut. Blades 3 (B. Wagstaff, Currie, Reece) Spurs 2 (Greaves, Chivers)
