A nice bloke he may be & comes across that way but I,lll judge him & te rest of the board on their backing of CW in January , that is going to be one of the most important transfer windows in a long long time if things continue as they have .

I think it will show exactly where we stand in relation to the Princes ambitions to , a lot of words and promises to date but actions will speak louder that words

I don't think this window is that important.

No key players out is the first objective - do we really need anyone else, apart from a Brian Deane?

Understand where you are coming from John but how will we know if Chris has been backed? Ok Chris brings in 3/4 players costing several million we all agree he has been backed but if he brings in 3/4 players for around 1/2 million does this mean he hasn't? It could be that Chris himself is happy and decided not to spend the rest, unless Chris gives a clue as to being unhappy we will probably never know

No, it's vitally important for the board to spend BIG money.
No-one cares who they spend it on - they just have to spend a lot. :rolleyes:

Exactly. If we don't spend at least £20 million on some no mark foreign striker (or Jordan Rhodes) then I'll be standing in the car park with my shoes off at midnight of the 31st of January.

I get where your coming from BB and we don’t actually know what budget he was given in the last window as I have said on a lot of my posts sover the 6 months the last thing I’d advocate is the shit or bust approach of previous years that have damaged the club , but I don’t think CW would want to unbalsnce the equilibrium anyway .

We currently have a team that fantastic work rate & team ethic but importantly can do this playing quality football , I suppose the art of management is adding to it and improving the quality without sacrificing our principles that have got us there . As we’ve seen already we’re gonna get injuries & suspensions .

I’d like to see us have us in the squad the option someone with a bit of pace upfront as an outlet , there are gonna be a few games where we’re not gonna have all the possession ( I know hard to believe ) and I think that give us an outlet .

Also I think we need a bit of cover for the 3 amigos in the middle , again for another option I’d like to see someone who likes a tackle and can break play up as Patterson used to do for us under Spackman .

I think we already have that in Basham (who can be covered by Stearman or Wright) Lundstram and Samir, not to mention Nathan Thomas who looks like he could be a classy winger from the bits I've seen of him.

Fair point Maidenhead , Bash has been invaluable for us I’m the first to acknowledge that , one thing CW has done unlike his predecessors is have a balanced squad with cover .

I’m certainly not belittling Carruthers / Lundstram and Thomas at the mo is the unknown quantity.
 
Great how he mentioned Coutts in the same breath as Brooks.

Certainly looking forward to Coach Chris announcing Couttsy's being rewarded with that new long-term contract. Especially because the role he plays, his age really isn't an issue.

Even when CW says he's happy with his financial backing that's not enough for some fans who argue that unless he's spent real madrid size sums of money he's not being backed.

If anyone persists with that bollocks just remind 'em of Wendy's 'ambition' and how far it's got them. Money is a factor but just one of several that you need if you're to do well. Give me our band of 'paupers' any day over over-paid and overrated players who don't have heart and courage. We've got that and more in spades, so let's hear no more about mega-budgets, and be happy with where we are! UTMB!!!
 
I listened last night, it was a decent listen. Tareq came across well and won the battle of the beards over the Wednesday fan! Maybe its just the appearance but he reminds me a bit of Jim Phipps!
