It can help if the full back is an attacking and overlapping type, like Seriki. Some have said Godfrey's come here to play right back and I'm not sure that's good news for Brooks or us.

Cannon and Godfrey offered more or less nothing first half vs Millwall, and I hoped we'd put on Seriki and Brooks at half time.

I don’t think the system works if you have two attacking sides. You can’t have Burrows/Barry AND Seriki/Brooks, it just leaves your centre backs in trouble when we lose the ball high up the pitch and can’t get back (see Bristol). Whether or not Soumare becomes part of a back three when we have the ball I don’t know but it’s good to have options.

Thought Godfrey was one of the better players from Saturday if you ask me. Millwall pretty early gave up going down his wing and targeted Burrows and Robinson due to the height

He was alright, not sure he was any better than Seriki but he was often tucked in more like a right sided centre back, if Millwall had doubled up down that side we'd have been in trouble, but as the other side of our defence is so bad that they never really exposed Godfrey.

Cannon would have been in the U21s for most of Godfrey's time at Everton, before going on loan to Preston in 2023. I'm also not sure that playing with Cannon, even for an extended period of time, would convey any benefit to his teammates.

Jimmy is getting a lot of bashing on this site which is not warranted . I follow him , the free stuff and he’s very down to earth and has good support from the Man Mountain and Dave the nose , you don’t have to sign up to his patreon if you don’t want to . I believe the subscribers to patreon get the transfer news first and then after a few hours we all ( free subscribers ) receive the info . Give the site a go and make up your own opinion . After all that’s what life is about making your own decisions and not been led by one or two that have knives out for this Sheffield United content creator . After all we are all blades aren’t we ??

I think there's a large difference between Ramble & SUW.

That is certainly meant as a compliment to the latter.

As I say I’ve not watched the Ramble stuff so can’t really comment on the content, I get the idea what they’re doing.

Used to follow Sheff Utd Way and some other Blades accounts on Twitter but came off that and on here where you get a broad range of opinion and all te rumours etc.

Just on Sheffield United Way and Blades Ramble. I watch both. I really like both channels. I'd say the main difference is that suw talk much less if none at all on subscriber numbers whereas Jimmy does that and talks about his channel development/evolution a lot more. Saying that I watch both and enjoy both. I am not a patron to either but each to his own.
