Is this a joke?
To a certain extent yes, but on a more genuine level - if I were an ambitious footballer and I saw how feckless we looked on Saturday I’d question the wisdom of moving from a team tipped to be vying for the playoffs, to a team in a less fancied city that don’t look likely to finish any higher than that.

Suppose that's why you aren't a professional athlete

Every player needs a transfer at some time in their career that involves a big pay rise and a signing on fee…likely with other incentives mixed in that will transform their future wealth overnight.

This lad is no different.

So he won’t give two hoots that Millwall beat us, he will care about his future and how he may impact on his own destiny.
And that means moving from a club that will be making up the numbers to a club that will still be expected to challenge for promotion and have a chance of earning himself one of the financial incentives in his contract.

I think you greatly underestimate the self belief and to a certain degree, arrogance, of professional sports people. Unlike you or I, he will likely be thinking "you know what, I can improve that defence and having spoken to the coach there, I can understand his plans and I feel positive about it" you know, instead of, "fuck me, they're a bit shit, best not back myself here, I'll stay put".

He probably knows Selles won't be lasting any longer so still happy to come here. Either that or the money we've offered

Winding up aside. Funny how JT isn’t involved on Saturday because of a pending transfer to us. While RND is on our bench then QPR wrap the deal up 2 days later.

Ahh, but you have to take into consideration the SUFC incoming transfer high complexity intangibles (ITHCI). Damn those pesky ITHCI's. Always out to foil our boardroom heroes.

Joking apart, im sure a loan deal at relatively low financial value, is a lot easier to sort out than a much higher value permanent transfer where an agent wants more money and the lad himself knows there is more interest. Most get that. Its the how long it takes to sort out from start to finish that is the kicker.

JT asked Neil to play and Neil wanted him to play, it’s not really anything more than that but when people want to believe the earth is flat they will convince themselves the earth is flat

Plus QPR were using RND as a replacement, Millwall have to go out and find a replacement

Just because you feel it doesn’t mean it’s there
