it’s not journalism, the Durham role is entertainment (winding up fans so other fans can have a laugh).
Personally Durham likes and rates us BUT he’s a professional, basically he’s an actor and does whatever brings in the ratings.
He’s really good at his job, hence why he’s been been regular on the prime time “Drive” slot for many years.

Basically Adrian Durham is the radio presenter version of of “Topplayersleave” or “Brian The Blade”.

Well, a cunt deliberately being a cunt doesn't make him less of a cunt.

And deliberately saying stupid, ill-informed nonsense for ratings is not a noble endeavour, it's gutter 'journalism'.
 
I remember the heady days of league 1, we were in the wilderness regarding any media exposure at all, they've got to cover Sheffield utd in the middle pages every Saturday and to me this is a joy to see.

The fact Mr Durham chose to batter is the same kind of stick poking employed by radio Sheffield and he wanted to provoke a reaction.. possibly those annoyed (and I am) don't realize because we gave up on RS so long ago.

no doubt when he's realised we've got Mancheter United's Dean Henderson back on loan his tone will change a little whilst he sucks up to man u..

Hope they all carry on underestimating us , that'll do nicely..
 
Why do people listen to that station? Its the equivalent of “reading” the Sun or Mail isn’t it? You have to be a bit “special”?

Because if you drive for a living, for example, you get tired of listening to your own music, tired of music stations that play the same songs repeatedly and want something to distract you without being mentally challenging. I work from home, I have it on when I’m doing admin type stuff, things that don’t require a huge amount of concentration. I just don’t take it seriously.

Exactly ,I used to listen to it in the van but I'm in a warehouse now so don't bother as much it's 50/50 some of its excellent and some of it is cross aimed at plastic armchair types
Have to admit I can't listen to Durham but turned on talksport this morning while walking the dog and Tony cascarino was reacting to Durhams comments and gave a more balanced view of our strategy although he did say that a lot of what Durham said wasn't wrong but we aren't in the market for proven premier quality players but that doesn't mean we'll go down
 
Newly promoted and on a tight budget, we would normally be a soft target for relegation. But CW and his staff have always bucked the trend and don't do 'normal'.
This guy may be sincere in what he says, but that doesn't make him right. My money is on CW having the last laugh (and a few celebratory beers) at the end of the season.

I totally agree - he is the most entertaining of any pundit because he doesn't sit on the fence..... I would rather he say this and we stay up (which we will do at a canter .... Norwich / Newcastle / Brighton doomed) than he says we will finish top 10, like he predicted Fulham would last year. Durham had a special feature on Sheff U in May apologising on behalf of Talk Sport during Drive for never giving our promotion push the credit we deserved. He said Talk Sport had spent all year saying how brilliant - Leeds this and Leeds that were.... before they turned all their attention to how brilliant Villa were....... I am 99.99% certain he will be apologising for these remarks come Xmas ................ Let's not forget we are the Bookies favourites to come bottom ..... meaning???? Not a lot - look at Leicester's odds the other year .... Cardiff's odds to go up 2 years ago.... our odds last season to go up............. Adrian Durhams words could be JUST want we needed to motivate and inspire............. My first ever post btw as I'm watching the Barnsley game in Portugal via Barnsley Facebook Page #bonus
 
Just read what this knob jockey is saying is he thick? we know Billy won't play every game that's why we've bought Robinson, Moussett and such to score. It really was waste of a good arse when they put teeth in his mouth, we're not Huddersfield or Fulham we're United and fuck all the rest.

He’s not really apologising...he’s playing a game again...to try to get publicity....and it’s worked.

On his main Drive show he’s playing a role like an actor.
His role is to play the pantomime villain on the wind up trying to get attention/ publicity for him and the station.
The other person in the studio is usually Goughy and he plays the role of being the good guy to balance it out.
They both give contrasting extreme views, try to get a reaction so that they receive loads of callers and it works....so both are good at their jobs.

He was commentating on our 3-0 win away at Hull, when he was having to be a serious commentator being himself.
He was really complementary about us and Chris Wilder and said our attacking play would be a great addition to the PL and will cause some surprises.

Tbf, im not gonna begrudge him of doing his job. Probably planned it all, even the apology.

He mentioned that he’d received loads of stick on Twitter from SU fans (which is expected) and also SU players (which I’m surprised about) sticking up for Billy Sharp.

Durham says things for a laugh but he’s probably professionally aware that there are boundaries and he doesn’t want to be the Katie Hopkins of radio.
I heard him apologise to Billy Sharp as soon as his show started the other day. He mentioned the stick he’d been receiving then

He said something about BS having a fantastic Championship record and mentioned that he had a lot of respect for his career.
However he said he still doesn’t think he’ll do it in the PL but he could be wrong and we’ll have to wait and see. Good luck to him.

Then someone has obviously thought to make the apology more light hearted and entertaining (for more publicity) so they’ve written a poem for Billy Sharp.
 
People saying were planning for the Championship but havent Brighton signed a league 1 player and two Championship players for a combined 40m 🙄🤔

Agreed, it's the worst part. Even worse when the presenters actually do the ad live, Alan Brazil telling us to get a lovely bacon roll from McDonald's. Cringe worthy.
