I do remember going into some oriental place on London Road, and making a loud joke about how menu item number 9 looked delicious. Cue lots of people agreeing saying 'mmm Crab Meat.' They'd all got menus with a small sticker on them covering up the original menu item which said 'Crap meat'.

The noodle inn is amazing, massive portions, although I don't fancy the 'tortoise herb jelly' for pudding

I see your seven sisters road and i raise you Green Lanes, or Turnpike Lane. Epic dumps the pair of them.

Although Green Lanes recent remodelling by the hands of Wood Green youths may have improved it since the last time i was there.:)

Cheeky bugger. That's my manor! I'll have you know that that area is the posh end of Tottenham! David Lammy used to live in my road as it was about as decent a place he could get whilst still being able to say he lived in his constituency.

I don't think there was much destruction down Green Lanes by the way. I didn't see any. It was more up at Wood Green.

Aye, bang on. For a tenner each you can get a meal out and tomorrow's tea. And bring your own wine. Full of Chinese (origin) people to - always a good sign.

To be honest, the lower reaches of Stroud Green Road is hardly the champs elysee either. Still nicer than Green Lanes though. ;)

And in reference to the riots i did mean the 'high road' part of Green Lanes.

The whole Harringay area is an example of a fairly common phenomenem in London - the once staunchly middle class area rapidly going downhill socially. I have lived there 20+ years now and its gone down market in my time (probably not entirely unconnected with my presence :-)) The houses on the ladder are actually quite nice but more and more are being split up unto flats and bedsits.

As an aside, my definition of a dump is an area with lots of bookmakers and no bookshops. Green Lanes passes that test with flying colours!

in my opinion . used to go drinking down london rd a few years ago at night , good nights out had by all, but would not touch the place now , rundown smelly boozers in need of a proper revamp im only saying it as i see it. resturants might be good but how many do they want, london rd is slowly becoming the new wicker , s--t ole.
