Sydie Peck

I like Sydie Peck hes a grafter and gets things going in MF even more so when he and Riedewald are paired together, at present he's more important than blaster.
So I'd love him to stay at the Lane and with an Championship season under his belt his all round game should improve

If Wilder actively chooses to cash in on Seriki and Brooks over Peck he should be relieved of his duties.
You can guarantee something galling will happen this summer.

I can see this:

Everton sell Ndiaye for 50m to Man U.

The tight, smug bastards offer something like 12m for Brooks and Seriki.

Peck is so over rated by our fans its a joke! Do we really think with him in the middle of the park we will get into the play offs?

If we get an offer for him in the summer, we need to accept it and re-invest in quality!

He was quite poor, misplaced a lot of passes. The whole team were also poor.
I thought he looked one of England's better players actually. Always taking the ball on the turn and trying to actually go forward with it. He gave it away a few times actually trying to make things happen. Nobody else was

The problem that none of our central midfield option as a pairing are progressive enough.

Arblaster was the most progressive midfielder we had until the injury as most of his passing was forwards and he used to take on the spin. There was a notable drop off in our chance creation once he got injured.

Peck is a good player, he works hard, gets stuck in and keeps things ticking over. His first thought is always backwards or sideways and don’t give the ball away. That’s fine but Jairo’s first instincts are pretty much the same.

In contrast to when we played Boro at home they had Hackney and McGree who were more mobile and constantly moving. When they passed the ball on they didn’t stand still and wait for it to come back they moved forward. They tried to pass it forward at every opportunity.

Our patterns of play have gotten so repetitive because we hardly ever move forwards through midfield. Our midfield goes side to side, then back to a defender. Usually then out to Tanganga, who looks for Seriki who then finally tries to move us forwards.

I like Peck as an option but he needs someone more mobile and progressive with him. Not someone who’s very similar to him. Or perhaps a 433 could work with trying to dominate the middle. Shame Hamer won’t be here and isn’t mobile enough because the Coventry version of Gus would be ideal to compliment Peck and Jairo.

We got 92 points with Peck in the middle of the park. He's a very good, young player...

I do think our fans might over rate his potential though. The standard in the PL is so high and I think he is a little limited in some key areas.
Talks of international call-ups feel a bit far-fetched, but if he does everything right he might have a steady PL career at somewhere like West Ham / Brentford... and, to be fair, he has the attitude to make it happen, which is huge.

I really like Peck, he seems a great lad. And if selling him funds a large portion of our training ground / CAT1 academy plans then he'll always be welcomed back with cult status.

Said it previously but I could see him at Brentford, difficult to say standard wise where he is at but our last (not academy) product was Berge, in our side he looked ok but when he has gone to Fulham with better players around him, he has been able to raise his game. I think Peck will be very similar in the sense of giving him more quality would see him shine, the problem at BTDBL is he is one of the better players where at a Brentford type he wouldn't be but that would allow him to step up a level as he would have more time on the ball, not necessarily having to run himself into the ground as he is picking up the slack of others too.

Not sure he gets a regular starting slot in anything other than a bottom 5 premier league side. The amount of English talent regularly starting is small because it's a global league and only the best make it through.

Possibly but then they might not want to gamble with a 21/22 year old for a relatively big fee in a regular starting slot. A move to a mid to upper mid side means they have the opportunity to give a bigger fee, maybe even on a loan back for a season but he could easily be on the fringes with cup games and off the bench, if you have the risk of relegation you don't usually twist with the unknown/potentially could do it, unless it's on the cheap.

Most of this season he’s been very ordinary compared to last season forget about the Premiership no where near good enough refocus pre season and take it from there

Probably what Hanauer is alluding too but the loss of Souza and Anel has meant he has had to adapt to being a different type of player. Even having Moore up front meant he had someone to play off moving forwards but the cover behind was a lot stronger than this season, as a player he must have one thought about having to play it safer knowing that a mistake will expose the midfield and defence and be overrun.

As has been said above, we've got a ~£30m cashflow hole to fill next season.

£5m of that will come through wages from players released on frees- Davies, Ings, Mee
£10m will come through selling Hamer (fee + saved wages)

That leaves £15m which, sadly, will have to come through selling one or more of the academy graduates. Peck is the most likely to attract bids at the required level and Wilder and his team will believe that Arblaster will be in a position, come August, to step back up to a decent level.
Seen nothing in blaster that convinces me hes made a full recovery ,very few do

Everton would hang up the phone and block Carrick's number at that sort of offer lol
