Interesting the figures being banded around to buy Hillsborough Comedy Club.

Chansiri is supposedly demanding £100m, which is seen as fantasy land stuff by most experts. Kieran Maguire reckons their true value is probably around £40m at a push, as they don't own their stadium (and it's falling to pieces).

We were sold for £110m to COH, which I actually think was probably a tad low compared to other clubs. But interesting that the market prices us as almost 3x more valuable than the comedy club. Strange because they're absolutely huge, massive, but are worth a fraction of what we're worth.

Anyway, I hope they go bust and disappear.

The only difference between the 2 clubs is squad value and the value of the facilities and land owned. So yes either they're overvalued at 40m or we went cheap at 110m.

Edit: + the parachute payments.

And the intangibles!!!!

Ridiculous to suggest that we're worth more than them 🤣

How is it ridiculous? They’re only worth what someone is willing to pay, and no one would buy them for the same money we were bought for. Therefore Sheffield United are worth (a lot) more than Sheffield Wednesday. Pretty ridiculous that you can’t get your head around that.

Did Kieran Maguire suggest that the £40m included the ground or not? Heres what COH got in comparison

Oh dear, it seems that not all things are obvious to all.

You've put Crooks under the wrong heading :)

We were bought for 110 mil with 80 mil of parachute payments as guaranteed income

We also own our stadium and training ground and have or had a playing squad worth over 100 million

Compare and contrast with the deludabots across the city who are probably worth very little but the owner wants his debts paid

Add up what you're actually buying.

Income per season:
£11m solidarity and TV (Championship) or £2m (League 1)
£8m or so for ticket sales

Outgoings:
£15m football salaries
£?? Other costs
HMRC/VAT

Then look at what you need to invest to have a chance of getting to the PL which is the only place there's a profit potential:
  • Ground upgrades and remedial works
  • New training ground, fitness and medical facilities etc
  • New Academy buildings
  • Academy staff, plus funding for 5+ years before you can expect to have saleable assets.
  • Transfer and signing fees to make the team competitive
  • Significant increase in salary budget.

On the back of that, I fail to see how it can be worth more than a token amount. On an optimistic basis they'd need to spend at least £100m to make it a yo-yo club, and a yo-yo club is worth around £110m...

I keep telling them, they've been telling him the club is massive and shock horror he wants a massive price for the shithole.

Getting what they deserve, keep paying the bills old lad, they can't touch him if he pays the bills...

Anybody wanting to buy them soon gets cold feet when they realise that the price doesn't include the land or the ground..

viva CHANSIRI !

What’s the Crookes site?

He gambled his money on the first two seasons to get back to the Premier, and when King Carlos f*cked it up at Wembley like we always do !! he is now lost in a sea of debt which is somehow lost on the deluded who are now regretting slagging him off to the point of him just leaving everything to rot
and just running the club into the ground.
They all hate him now - but a few years ago when they beat Barnsley in the last minute he was seen
with his Wednesday scarf lifting the League 1 play off trophy aloft !!! they have forgotten about all that now though ---- as all this pandering by other clubs is beyond belief.

Oh please like us ... we can't pay our bills ... please feel sorry for us ..................... Pathetic

Just FRO and sort yourselves out ffs --- Up the Blades

Crookes.

Only joking. I went for a nosy once but can’t remember exactly where it is. Last I heard United were getting it up and running again and had applied for planning permission for new floodlights. I think it’s to be used for local youth teams, maybe even those we’ve kicked off the new training complex at Dore.

^^^^^

It’s a project to try to do exactly what is needed to first of all stabilise as a Championship club and then try to push for the PL and yo yo from there. Incredibly tall order with as high a probability of failure as success.

It’s worth ten bob today.

Hes taking the piss -isnt it obvious ...captain obvious

I think it was the academy pitches which we couldn’t use as there was something about floodlights…
I thought Crookes that was one of the things McCabe snaffled on the quiet like he did with bits of the ground being owned by his son and not the club and him "saving" us from owning the hotel that only a year earlier had said was a risk free alternative income stream but he managed to make a multi million pound loss by the club and buy it for a pound.

Pretty much any other club in the Championship is a better project than they are
