I find it an absolute joke that people like Chingo could come here protesting about this Forum and that the youngsters aren't listened to and claiming that some BladesMad members are victims because of their age.

I think the real issue with some of the "younger" members is that they don't know how to approach people without considering it to be a fight and the only way to win that fight is to shout louder than everyone else.

When their initial reaction to the recruitment of someone to try and help them achieve their aims is to call him all the names under the sun, they don't exactly pave the way for people at the club to approach them.

But instead of considering this to be an issue of their own to sort out, they decide to start flinging insults our way... insinuating that we're the ones doing something wrong by being considered approachable and reasonable enough to put points across without resorting to abuse. If they want the club to talk to them, they should get their own house in order and remember that everything they post on a public forum is, by definition, public and that in the world of business, you don't achieve very much by going into a meeting and calling everyone a set of "arse licking fuckers" and "inbred".

Their logic seems utterly bizarre and their age is no excuse

I think the Wendy comment was an analogy of you (this site) can get some response from the club while the younger elements pleas seem to fall on deaf ears , or they are shoved out of the way into a corner and the club hopes they will go away ... ALA Wendy and SCC and United and the SCC.

How can you expect some of the younger element of our support to post on here after comments contained in this thread , they will think they are on a hiding before they have even posted !

These would be the ones who call people cunts if they don't exactly what they want and have to have it exactly on their terms?

Chingo, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's been a single reference on here, from the "saintly" S2 posters, to Richard Batho's size. On BM, you can't move for such observations, which are completely irrelevant to his ability to do his job, as are references to how good his lad is at football.

and apparently his son is crap at football, the relevance of which is totally lost on me. They were just having a go, no rhyme nor reason but then in the same breath to complain that they aren't listened to.

Also while grumbling about this sites "influence" at the club it has been pointed out by myself amongst others that BM doesn't have the functionality that this site does due to it being part of a wider network of Mad sites.

Good luck to the man I say. I think it is a positive step to have such a position. The very first thing that we needed was access and a conduit for information.

I think the fact the club are willing to establish such access is a positive for them too. Does anyone know of other clubs that actually consult fans or gauge opinion. I wager none in the "promised land" do.

As for all the insults on Bladesmad - they are uncalled for and beyond being juvenile are outright bullying. I've been on there a few times and many threads descend into slanging matches and insult trading. I don't know if all the "Mad" boards are akin to that but there is very little thinking or understanding present. Just reaction.

Opening such a position does not mean that all suggestions will now be listened to and agreed to. Some things will have been overlooked and will hopefully now be addressed. Others are issues that just cannot be changed but hopefully some compromises can be made and improvements realised. For example - I'd love some fans on the BLUT especially if we could get some who would create some noise there (the acoustics are good up there) and have that and the Kop creating some synergie. However, since G&H were shut there will be major pressures on from the police re such a move. People need to realise simple facts like that.

Well I am a regular on BM and to be honest I thought some comments were shocking and like I said on BM give the guy a chance before judging him, i also said what I thought about the bigger blade rubbish. Sorry foxy and Linz but I also said I prefer BM to this forum because i am in your face sort of person who will not hold back and say what I feel and on here I felt people got to easily offended lol.

Agree with alot of what you say which is what this is really about. People can have different opinions and shouldn't be expected to be abused for having them.
The problem I have with some of the posters on BM is that they react to things without thinking of consequences. It's easy to say.'Adams is the cheap option','why hasn't Killa come to us','McCabe put your hand in your pocket' but when someone comes back with a constructive arguement some say they are 'clappers','arse lickers' etc. It's as if you aren't allow an alternative point of view without being derided.

In reaction to this role,the initial reaction by many appears to be they believe that no one will listen to what they want...but then go on to say what they want. People seem to post just for a reaction,wind people up or on occasions just tell lies.

The perception is that if you shout loud on BM,you are imprtant. On here at least the debate seems more reasoned(most of the time)

The other thing that annoys me on both sites is the personal abuse some of the players and staff get. Constructuively slag them off for their ability to do a job and discuss that but it's out of order when it gets personal.

I have met Richard Batho many times and besides being a big Blade he is a very personable and competent bloke.

If the job can be done, I have every confidence that Richard will do it very well, and if he fails then we all have a problem with the club management and in my opinion the job required can not be done.

I know Richard will do whatever he can for EVERY fan but I also know that he will be working under all sorts of logistical constraints.

I don't envy his position but I wish him the best of luck for the future of our club and the benefit of all of us!

I have a season ticket on the Kop. I've watched almost all of my football from the Kop, for a long, long time now.

I know how to spell "wankers" - it's not with a "v", then another, then a space, then "ankers".

I know how to spell "fuck" and "cunt" too and I find it humorous to sprinkle a conversation, or indeed an internet post, with said expletives.

I don't mind a slanging match with dickheads from a fifth-rate forum I rarely read. And I rarely read it because it's shit. Why do the club ask www.s24su.com to press conferences? Bcause it's the best forum and read by the most people. While the neanderthals on BM are licking at their many spelling mistakes we're getting a better forum. Their loss.

Now people have had their say on the merits of various message boards and each other (which I've still got to catch up on so as to ensure I've not missed anything untoward or needing of infraction! - though I'm sure we can trust the vast majority to have not overstepped the mark)...

I don't wish to censor anyone nor tell people what they can and can't talk about - everyone knows that's not what this place is about, everyone is free to have and post their own opinions. But in the interests of returning to what this thread was actually created about, would it be a good idea to return to the original topic of conversation in that Sheffield United have appointed a "Supporters Communications Manager" with the intentions of the club working more closely with the complete fanbase? I'm sure there are plenty of opinions regarding how that could be achieved and many good ideas to bring to the table going forward, it would be a shame if that was clouded with good ideas and peoples opinions being sandwiched between squabbling.

Executive box - been in the Exec lounge on John St, but I sit on the Kop
Mitten wearing - When I worked in Kazakhstan and it was -20 and below I was inclined to wear a glove or 2
"Ooh look at my Lexus" - I drive an Audi RS4, I don't like Japanese executive vehicles, they don't have the same history.
Not saying the words 'f**k' or 'c**t' - I don't tend to put the '*' when I swear, but I do change fuck to feck to make it sound more middle class.

Except, as I said to you before, I've never been on BladesMad, nor would I want to. The only things i've thrown are response back to you, Zideane and to the post about TylerDurden1889 comments regarding this site.

All rather childish on both sides, but at the same time I've been amused that you're getting so up tight and whinging when you throw the insults first, but can't accept it when people offer their colourful and lets be fair, more intellectual responses.
