Can we have the massive crowd surfacing Blades flag back please ?

Cat 1 Academy.
Remove pillars and improve toilets on the Kop.
Safe standing.
Hotel improvements.
Better players.
Better Manager.
Better training facilities.
Improvements for women’s side.
Better ticket organisation.
A new ground.
Cheaper season tickets.
Cheaper access for casual support.
Better food.

These are just off the top of my head. Any others? To my mind, the list needs priorities, especially as most of them cost money..
Money we don’t currently have.
Top priority for me is white socks in the home strip. Costs nothing and always cheers me up.

So, much like the desire for a better NHS to fend off the annual 'worst winter crisis ever' then.

More magic money trees required,

Though with sparkly decorations given the time of year. 🎄

A Medium- long term plan is probably the one that would help.

At the moment, although we have actually have had success it doesn't actually feel like it was planned. If we hadn't got promoted, we would have been in massive financial difficulties.

If we get taken over, they will want return on their investment and a plan showing the journey on how they get there would probably help to calm peoples concerns, at least until the plan doesn't go to plan!

Citeh, announced pre tax profits of £70m... not saying they need to aim for that but buying something for £100m, you need to make a return on that somehow.

Any "fan improvements" would only work if they genuinely increase revenue potential.

Cat1 definitley does, developing players to then sell works, and we need to accept this as part of our long term plan. Look at our academy players currently, by end of the season, we have a crop who will actually be worth a bit.

remove pillars on the Kop would be ideal, but cost to return basis is probably a bit unclear?

My personal preference, is a medium term plan to see us established as a mid table PL club, This doesn't mean we get promoted this season and never come back down, I think it will take another couple of bounces up and down.

I love the teams connection with the fan base, I don't get to many games but even on TV, I like to watch the end when players go over to thank the support, I would like our plan to continue with this as the heart of who we are. I feel that players buy into us, and I think an overseas market could in theory blossom because of that.

Merger with Wednesday, anyone?

utb
Yep, but in a way respectful to both clubs. Should take the best half of each identity and combine into a sum greater than the parts:

Take the White from their kit and the Red from ours, the Sheffield from their name and the United from ours and seeing as we can't play at two grounds, play at the better ground and turn hi**sbourgh into an annex for Shiercliffe.

For me the number one priority has to be cat 1 status, it’s the only way a club like ours can hope to fund regular Premier league football.
It would also help to make us sustainable in the Championship from a financial perspective.
Also there is the obvious benefit of enjoying the development of home grown players.

Getting the new training ground at Dore up and running is key to this so I would focus on those 2 things first as it could take 3-5 years to start to see the benefits.

As a Championship club a cat 1 academy makes little financial sense. The cost of running one is much higher than a cat 2 and although we’ve done well out of ours in terms of transfer fees it’s far from a guarantee.

If our revenue dropped to ‘normal’ championship level of around £25m then a large chunk of that goes on the academy and it gets to the point where anyone half decent has to be sold to fund it. As a PL club it’s easily swallowed but below that it’s a burden.

Casual was meant to refer to a potential buyer who has zero loyalty points. It sometimes happens when you might want a ticket for a friend or relative who is visiting.
Why are you not allowed to buy a ticket for a friend or relative if that seat would otherwise be empty?
In that situation it is a classic "football tourist" the main reason especially in the Premier League is that "so called mate" or extra seat bought without loyalty points or a record is usually either an away "fan" sat in the home end or someone visiting just to see Premier League football. Especially students (not always) visiting the lane are very rarely going to be a fan of Sheff United, if we are playing Liverpool or Man United etc the chances are this extra ticket will be picked up by a student who is a Liverpool fan, if they keep quiet and enjoy the experience I don't have a problem, it's when they get caught up and start celebrating goals which is likely to cause an annoyance.

Another part of the "problem" is data collection, which can be 2 fold, the Police want information, similar to the data sharing in place when you purchase away tickets but also the club want data collection. If you buy 2 tickets, the club has only benefitted once, if they have a record of the other person they can hit them with marketing material for repeat custom. We were happy to shout about how every seat inside Bramall Lane is covered by a CCTV camera but it isn't any good if you don't know who is sitting in it just "Bob's mate" or whatever.

What do supporters get out of all this chaos and madness? Is it fair to keep us in the dark and fed on crap, like mushrooms?
Any manager will praise the importance of supporters, especially when the team needs great support.

It seems to me that many fans want it all and they want it now. In business as in football, managers and owners will play their cards close to their chest, for obvious reasons.

Do fans expect more in return for their support, and is that justified?

Do you want a successful team?

Is today ok, or do you also want a better future, and improvements to infrastructure.

Do we have any right to expect a long term plan?

Improved communications might be better, but following this forum for a few years shows a wide variety of wants and needs.
Some of it is possible, but most of thos e desires are outside our remit. What is on your wish list and what order or priority should it assume?

Money we don’t currently have.

Is it worth the new owner (If we ever get one) holding a meeting to discuss the wants and needs of supporters, and to present their own plans for the clubs future?

I think we have been kept in the dark for too long, and if supporters goodwill means anything, it should be addressed at the start. I accept some of it is beyond our remit, collectively and individually, but an outline plan for the clubs future is a must have!

Personally, I would be happy with a wrigley tin roof on the bogs, and a tiled mosaic of Chansiri to piss on, The big thing to remember is to be realistic, and you can only spend any money once!
What is the chaos?

That joke is sooo old 😂

Technically, wouldn't it be Sheffield Re-United? As they were original tenants of Bramall Lane...

If the posts get removed in the kop how are we supposed to hide away from the view from conceding painful goals? Maybe they are not needed with cooper

The cat 1 academy would be good
Never sit on kop so can't comment on the facilities but the pillars need to go
Better players and manager is a pointless question who is going to say no let's have worse ones !!
Couldn't care at all about improving the women's game , let them find/build fund their own ground , kit, training facilities, transport ticketing infrastructure and stop piggy backing of the men's game , then when they have to charge prices relevant to their costs we will see how fast the game is developing

I’m sure some of those practices do go on especially for EPL seats. That does not apply so much in EFL, and still acts as a disadvantage to blades supporters with genuine ticket requests.
The data mining that goes on with any transaction is a matter that riles me anyway. Why should we be the unwitting assistant for the continuation of such irritating and annoying practices? Most supporters would be happy to comply, if they were allowed to buy extra tickets anyway.

We are still in the EFL, and the current stalemate on any takeover could undermine our league status in the JTW. PL membership is not guaranteed by any means!

Some interesting points. The only one I find myself at odds with, is club support for the women’s game. The club assumes very little costs compared to the benefits of supporting grass roots football development, and good business practices as an option for further future income from entertainment values. We obviously have different opinions on it. 🤷‍♂️

I consider the impasse over a prospective take over, the difficulties this could cause in the JTW, and the general poor standard of communication by the current owner and his board members, as the cause of considerable speculation and unease for supporters.

The takeover will take as long as it takes and that’s not our business as supporters unless we’re involved in the sale. As much as we feel that we need info daily, we’re not entitled to it when the impact of releasing information can and would’ve affected the sale… as we know it’s taken a while, so it’s not a simple process. Conclusion: not chaos

People will speculate. They may take your name and link you to 1970’s Road safety videos, 1990’s music / rave / ecstasy scene or nowadays cocaine usage… none or all could be true, but people may still speculate. Conclusion: potential chaos

I suspect that the business model is changing, and the enforced use of our academy players this season is a new issue enjoying limited success because of it.

As always any business will make cuts according to their status. Worth noting that any success earned by academy status in the EPL will have some positive effects in a lower division.
I agree that Cat 1 status will incur additional costs, but it should add to our income in the long term if we maintain EPL or Championship status as a club.

Now that both parties have made public declarations regarding the takeover, it nullifies any disclosure agreements.
Of course this will create speculation, but that could be avoided by better communication from both parties.
There doesn’t seem to be any reason or legal barrier to letting fans know what’s going on. Keeping supporters and media in the dark just leads to more annoying speculation.

My personal history is irrelevant. The most notorious thing I have done is to lose my virginity at the age of 14. lol

A NEW GROUND!?
Nope!

Maybe a new stadium on the EXISTING grounds and flip it 90 degrees.
I agree with retaining the current location of the ground, but your suggestion would need every current stand being refurbished, including the much needed refurb of the John street stand and facilities.
Very expensive at todays prices, a very long ground closure required, and where do you see the Kop ending up?

But the deal isn’t done is it?
The two parties have said, and I’m paraphrasing:
Buyers: we’ve been approved by the EFL to buy
Seller: great, let’s chat. To the bed wetting Fans, we’re chatting with them now.

They both commmented when it reached the natural point to do so. NDA’s are irrelevant, you won’t get a daily update until it’s done or until one side wants to turn the screw…

If you’re buying a house it’s like having your mortgage approved. If you’re buying a car on finance, your loan is approved… there’s still work to be done until it’s yours

Your personal history may well be irrelevant but I was using it as a point to demonstrate speculation and how it’s completely out of your control… which is meaningless. I’m sure the buyers won’t care for the speculation

It only adds to income if you produce players that you can sell. The average cost of a cat 1 academy is £3-£5m+ a year, then you have the cost of the land/facilities to pay for. It’s nothing to a PL club, as a Championship club you need to be selling a good player every year or 2 to make it stack up.

I’d love us to have one but it’s not the be all and end all if we remain cat 2, we seem to do ok at it at the moment.

I am sure the S6 followers could see the logic in that! lol 😂

Producing quality product for ROI is a value reflected in both divisions. While we remain a yo yo club, these income streams will be important to our survival as a football club and a business
Maybe my optimism is aiming too high, and too far into the future?
Like you said, it’s a ‘nice to have’.

The final comment by the seller? Is that a new public statement?
Not one I’ve heard before.

I posted on the basis that there was only one public statement by each party to the sale.
