Sunderland has won just 6 home games all season and has the 18th best home record in the division. Amazed you good people didn’t pick up on this prior to the game.

We have lost to anyone who was any good and will surely lose to Luton at home on Saturday

The stadium of light by and large has been a terrible home for safc with the opposition clearly relishing playing there.

We have been relegated at the ground 4 times in the 25 years there, each time bottom of the division for the first time in our history

Stoke who had won just 8 times in 70 league visits to wearside spanning over 130 years spanked us 5 v 1 and I’m doing so inflicted our worst home defeat in 41 years

Lovely ground to look at but boy has it been a poor stadium for safc results wise

Inevitable what was going to happen tonight- Sheffield Uniteds 4rth win on wearside since the war in 33 visits.

It won’t be the last.

No complaints about the result but you didn’t really beat very much. Everyone beats us at the stadium of light.

My only surprise is that you didn’t win by more.

Nigh on 40000 fans being short changed every home game. Awful.

Season over for Sunderland now

Saw your game on sky when you beat Boro 2-0.
Fair scoreline, don't know what was wrong with Boro but you were pretty impressive that day earning a fairly comfortable win.

I can tell you what happened marra Middlesbrough and their fans committed the cardinal sin of anticipating a win for the two weeks previous

If they had turned up with the mindset that everyone else turns up ie confident but not cocky they would have won

Away from home we are a totally different team but at home, an absolute disgrace. Tbh if it wasn’t for Alex Neil we would still be in the third tier because again the previous 3 seasons and our home was a hindrance more than an asset

People are starting to pick up on our record at what is a lovely stadium to look at but terrible football wise for us

Anyway you won fair and square tonight and you now have a great chance to go up second

Best of luck

absolutely fantastic. we got the performance & the result for the 1st time since swansea, a month ago. i will say this yes we have struggled, but in these must win game, Wrexham, Watford, Reading & Sunderland we have won every one & you cant complain

The team needed refreshing, i thought they all did a great job of proving why they should be in the team

i thought at the start of the 2nd half if we can get a winner in this 2nd half this could be huge moment for the squad & promotion, 1 that hopefully that reinstills the belief & freedom for the run in. because incredibly that the 1st time this season we have gone behind & won. not since 29th april v QPR. its a huge boost for the FA cup, because if the midweek utd, we have every chance of getting to wembley. but if its last saturdays. going to be tough afternoon

Burnley; we were behind twice but won 5-2.

Almost seemed like Becky listened to the fans with the switch up & with the fire they played with tonight. Let’s face it he couldn’t ignore! It was across all mediums - radio, tinterwebbings, on the stands etc….

Onwards and hopefully now upwards 😬 Only a few more chewed fingers & soiled mattresses away from the £100M+ glory league!

Great night, crowd got behind the lads well too.
Only second time all season we've won from going behind, so the fight is there too.
Players really needed that too. Also they seemed to love 'The blades are going up' chant at the end, get that before back all round.
UTB

Just home, via a long night out in Newcastle. Apologies to anyone woken up with a varied rendition of Blades songs from the City Centre to Jesmond at 2am!

A much more energetic team selection, good performances from everyone and fantastic, almost constant, support from away end.

Aside from all the comments about midfield where hopefully Hecky will now continue to pick a more mobile energetic team, I thought Jebbo made a significant difference. Having the threat of someone who can run in behind created so much more space between their defence and midfield which allowed others to prosper. For whatever reason McBurnie seems to have lost any ability to burst in behind (ala Brighton away). I’d be inclined to use Jebbo and then even Osula now when we need to take the game to the opposition. McBurnie and Sharp have a contribution to make but not when we need to be stretching the opposition.

Weren’t the games against Boro and Luton must win?

well we rather we didnt lose them, but the pressure wasnt on as there was still breathing room being 7pts clear. them other games we wouldve been 1-3 pts ahead. they were must win to get back to 6pts +
