My first season ticket was the promotion to prem season, so was hooked straight away and since then i'm still benefiting from cheaper renewal pieces and classed as a young adult, Don't think I've payed more than £180 for a season ticket in 11 years

A couple more random thoughts about the OP:
1. The importance of sponsors and advertisers as sources of revenue means that it is now in the interest of clubs to be seen to be having big attendances.
2. It has become fashionable to regard the last game of the season as a game to see and be seen at. For a long time, once promotion and relegation had been decided, attendances dropped, and the last match felt like a friendly. 1963, United got over 20000 for Leyton on April 26, and 18000 against Liverpool for the final game on May 11. When promoted in 1961, the crowd dipped to under 19000 for the last match v Middlesbrough. Times have changed.

To any Pigs who are sniping/exaggerating/outright lying about the extent of our concessionary schemes/pricing structure, I'll tell them a little story:

I'm just about old enough to recall United having a three-sided ground, and not even being able to fill that. A couple of years later (99/00 ) I had my first season ticket. The average attendance that season was 13,000.

The football was shite, the boardroom was a fucking circus and the blue and white 3rd of Sheffield had enjoyed a near decade of top-flight football and an undisputably bigger attending fanbase.....all of which was about to change.

Now, did we pursue a policy of accessible football in the first decade of 2000? Damn right we did. We made it easy for kids to watch us because it's a lifetime investment. We made it affordable for students because maybe, just maybe we did our research and noted that Sheffield has one of the highest retention rates for graduates in the country.
If the football was going to be crap then at least it was going to be cheap. It just so happens that all this coincided with United enjoying a decade of unbroken dominance over our shit neighbours.

By contrast, the filth from S6 raised prices year on year, exploiting their gullible and deluded fanbase and milking them for all they're worth whilst their football was fucking garbage. SWFC's budget apparently didn't cover cheap tickets but it did cover those 'Get Your Premiership Return Ticket' adverts pasted on buses and trams.......the year they got relegated to the third division. Yet another example of their arrogance biting them on the arse.

The funniest thing about all this is that those thick misguided cunts think that they can laugh at our ticketing policy (which has paid dividends), never realising that they've been hoodwinked, exploited and sold down the river by successive white elephant owners on the hollow promise that "this will be their year" ad infinitum.

All true, plus the fact that we've got (probably) the most loyal fans in football. Won fuck all for 92 years (and no, I'm not counting the Third or 4th Divisions). So, what's going on?

Wilder has brought the club back to the fans. Our loyalty has never been in doubt, but the crowds now 'buy into' what CW is doing at the Lane.

...and the football being played makes it an absolute pleasure to attend matches - probably the best times I can remember. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Why do so many people hate Bramall Lane so much? I think it's one of the best grounds in the country

Based on the comments we have have had on Roy's 'View From' over the years, the vast majority of visiting fans including those we played from higher leagues in the cups really rate the Lane. The recent 4-4-2 mag 'match day experience' poll also put the Lane second in all four division and so I think you're a bit wide of the mark.

Unless of course you've been listening to the Pork who really do hate the Lane, because it's not an embarrassing shit-tip like the Rust Bucket.
