I suspect Anel and Hamer will go, possibly Souza as well. Firstly we need a new coherent system, the chaotic start to the year to the takeover hasn’t helped us.

Notwithstanding that, I’d be looking for the following positions to be bolstered:-

Two CBs
DMC
Two wide midfielders
Number 10

If we can get quality like Burrows and Cooper in I think we have a decent chance. Pace and power is what we need. Second half, notwithstanding the changes, we looked like athletically we couldn’t keep up with Sunderland.
💯

When you say new system, do you mean formation or recruitment?

Please get rid of these wasters
Keep Brewster who's now usually fit and proven a useful player - also we get further value from his signing (the longer he's with us and playing). He would need a wage drop presumably, but surely he'd be cool with that all things considered.

Robinson would be fine as 4th choice CB, but realistically better to let him move on.

Still got 5 loans next season as well.

RB: Connor Roberts (Burnley)
CB: Callum Doyle (Man City)
LW: Tom Watson (Brighton?)
RW: Lewis Koumas (Liverpool?)
ST: Will Lankshear (Spurs)

I'm not that sure Hamer, Souza and Anel will look to leave. I think that was more likely after last year's relegation than this year. So it then comes down to what price is offered/time left on contract.
Of the three, I'd be least concerned about Souza going simply because Blaster is a more than ample replacement.

In my realistic list of EFL players,

Jimmy Dunne,
Harry Darling,
Kwame Poku,
Thelo Aasgaard,
Ayden Heaven (loan),
Ciaron Brown,
Ben Mee/Craig Dawson
Richard Kone

I’d love us to look at Anis Mehmeti/Borja Sainz/Million Manhoef but might be out of reach now.

Pointless exercise until we see how owners have taken this season end in. Maybe a complete change needed, on and off the pitch.

Whilst hamer has individual quality, his injury record and discipline record see him miss a good chunk of matches.

I still think he has been played out of position all year.

What do we expect as a return on him? 20m for Championship player of the year?

To be honest, I'd be most concerned if Souza left rather than Anel or Hamer.

Anel has had good and bad games this season, and while we are more creative when Hamer plays, we have created chances without (just not as many).

Whereas with Souza, whenever he hasn't played (injury), we've really struggled in midfield as teams got through our midfield a lot easier.

We need a RB first and foremost. Dunne?
Hamer for me we need to keep unless a 20m bid or more comes in. Anel I’m not worried about losing. Souza I’d prefer to keep but a fit Blaster and Peck can do the job. Not too bothered about the loan players though Choudhury would give us options.
I’d like to see us sign some power and pace up front. Cannon needs more time but everytime we bring him on nobody thinks he will make a difference. It’s over to the new owners now to see just how much backing they give the manager

I’d still rather keep him. He is by far our most creative player. Few would have played that ball through to Campbell yesterday

Don’t be ridiculous- we don’t sign any of that foreign muck. Our scouts probably don’t have passports.
Look it’s not our fault they’re scared of flying and get terrible sea sickness

Very true but he'll want to leave if he gets offers which seems very likely, even if it's only to Leeds/Burnley/Sunderland.

We need a fully functional midfield with a good engine, defensive, creative, mobile, gets up and down, gets their foot in,gets on the front foot, has pace and power, turns the ball over high up the pitch.
How about some fully functional strikers who can do what their paid to do in order to kill off games. A fully functional back four without someone who's main asset is long throw ins. Also a fully functional Director of Football, Recruitment team and "Coach" who realise, unlike the present structure, that football has moved on from the dark ages.

I've been saying this for awhile, our current midfield is to defensive (i realise Peck tries), we need midfield to chip in with some goals, we've had nothing this year,
Add in two wingers and whatever centre backs we need for Anel & Robbo', Burrows might attract a bid, the right side needs attention regardless unless CW thinks Femi is good enough

I’d release Brewster, he’s not good enough and overpaid. Robinson can have another year, I don’t rate him but he does a job.

I’d sell Anel. He’s not brilliant and I doubt he’d sign a new deal. £7.5m would be a fair fee. I expect Hamer and Souza to go, though it’s not nailed on. £25m for Hamer and £20m Souza is realistic and beneficial. RND and Oné can go out on loan.

I’d play a 4-2-3-1, it’s what fits our squad and is the most adaptable formation.

1x RB. Needs to be a reliable starter. I expect Jonjoe Kenny to sign in the next few weeks but I think Ashley Young would be a good option on a free to start ~25 games.

3x CB. 2 of Holding, Souttar and the likes of Dunne and Darling. They need to be good enough to start. 1 should be a youngster on loan from a big club/ a cheap fee from Leageu One/ a cheap fee from a decent foreign league.

1x DM. Our midfield is fairly strong, but Arblaster and Davies have fitness questions and Shackleton is MIA. We’d need someone who can do the Souza role if necessary but won’t start every game. Maybe another Choudhury loan?

1x RW. I rate Brooks but he’s not good enough yet to start every week, so we’d need to a starter. Trhys Dolan on a free would be decent but I’d like someone more ambitious.

1x AM. Someone to back up O’Hare and provide some magic off the bench, probably on loan. Would Man City be willing to give us Nico O’Reilly for a year?

2x LW. The most crucial position. We need someone to replace Hamer’s output and magic. The only player in the Championship who I can see doing that is Borja Sainz who I’d throw serious money at. He’ll probably end up at a promoted team so I’d be looking for someone abroad in that case. We’d also need another option here.

1x ST. Campbell’s great when fit, Moore’s decent and Cannon’s average. We need someone to provide an option for the last half hour of games when Campbell comes off. Chido Obi Martin at Man U looks to be a very good player to me, and I’d hope they’ll have the sense to let him leave to play football at a non-toxic club for a year.

I think Brewster should go period, Robbo needs to move on as well. We’ve just had a major rebuild and we need to change some more of the old guard and also replace the loan signings so whatever happens with playing staff and managerial staff it’s going to be another busy summer where we will ALL be doom and gloom when we dont sign players until the last minute as the transfer merry go round spins and we get impatient.

We need round pegs in round holes next season, you look at all of the promoted teams they had players and back ups who suited the formation they played. Whereas we had a hodge podge of players who were forced to play positions they weren't used to, so it's no real surprise that we didnt play a cohesive style for the majority of the season, with little to no creativity or chance creation coming from anyone outside of Hamer and occasional spells from Rak-Sakyi.

3 or 4 wingers are a must, players good on the ball and can drive at full backs with pace, power and trickery. Poku is an obvious choice. A couple from abroad from a bit of poking at stats from wyscout are: Hugo Picard from Guingamp in Ligue 2 and Serginho from Viborg FF in the Danish Superliga who are both standouts in their respective leagues for carrying the ball and assisting, both would go a long way in helping us be a more cohesive creative team by actually having wingers play on the wing.

I’m getting in early on this so suggest at least one of the wide midfielders will be useless and our new scapegoat and at least two will be sixty minute men.

Unless some things change.

Murphy from Portsmouth is a great shout to potentially replace most of Hamer's G+A output on the cheap
Probably the best individual performance against us last season. Would be a ideal replacement for Hamer and give us better balance. As good as Hamer is, it felt like he was shoehorned into the team. Wilder did the same with Brewster, who needs to leave and go to a club that will play him in his preferred position.
