There needs to be a new manager. Sunderland were only mid table last season. He's way out of his depth. We've had a reprieve. Next time will be curtains. The youngsters are holding their own against the top clubs as well.

Not an easy watch - in many respects similar to watching the men this year. Started brightly, went one down, lost control. Despite the later goals I thought the subs made them more lively. Amy Andrews looked good early on but was knackered by the end.

Looked like a team of 11 strangers (which it pretty much is).

Some decent technical players from the looks of it but struggled to break sunderland down.

There might be some promise but it could also be another tricky season...

Think I’m right in saying there’s no relegation this season as they’re expanding the top two divisions by two teams each. Could have got out of jail two seasons in a row.

Thought there was enough decent play in the first half an hour for a little optimism though.

I dont really have an interest in the women's side of SUFC but appreciate the ones who do but maybe they could have their own youtube channel? Noticed alot posted over the summer when I only look out for the men's content posted.

It definitely needs some change of direction anyway as they've never kicked on over the years.

Good luck for the season

Seems a decent point but I’m not so sure.

I do have an interest in the women’s team but it’s at a similar level to my interest in the Academy team….so it’s a very small interest.
I want them to win and look out for their results but I’m not that bothered and would never go to a match, even if it was free.
Although if a grand daughter or I knew someone playing in the team then maybe I could be persuaded to attend.

If the women’s team are given their own channel I’d probably never visit it….so even casual interest (like mine) would gradually die.
If traffic is so scarce then even committed women’s football fans might stop visiting and posting comments, so that channel would die.

Also to be fair you can normally see which posts refer to women’s football….so if people aren’t interested then don’t click the thread.
In fact there’s a thread called “SUFC women”, so it’s easily identified.

There’s no right and wrong answer…agree interest initially grew but has now remained static….not sure what the solution is.
Maybe the reality is the SU women’s team has already hit its limit of 1K to 1.5K attendances… it’s better than local non league teams.
