With them being part time you'd think geography plays a part for a lot of them too
It does. A friend of ours has just signed for Plymouth Argyle because they provide free accommodation and arrange a part time job. Great deal. She was at Stoke City last season & the commute from Barnsley for training was brutal.

Is there any reason we're not getting a new manager?

I’ve pondered that.

The fault for last season certainly couldn’t just be pinned on him. It was 90% board level negligence.

Thompson was a successful U21 coach before taking the senior role, so I’d like to think it’s as simple as the board and players rating him. But I’ve zero inside knowledge.

It just seems a bit of a reach. It could work but then again it could really backfire.

Sounds like we're giving it a better go than last season.

Would be good to see them back fighting top end of the Championship.
I don’t think the Championship exists like last year (%when we would have been relegated) but is now the lower division of the Women’s’ Premiership.
Hopefully a better financial structure.

Our manager Thompson is 'unavailable '.
Long , terrible season ahead. They want a fiver off ST holders for that..WTAF..?

Oh dear.

I was hoping we had turned the corner and the women would be much better. Early days though, and the men's team are hardly showing them how its done are they.

Genuine question as I'm not a fan of the ladies football. What does the women's section actually cost the club every year to run and maintain?

I assume that expenditure (wages, etc) comes nowhere near income (grants, gate money, etc).

Not a criticism or a dig at all, and not designed to be 'used' in any way to justify any argument. I'm just interested to know.

How much does the ownership have to find to fund the operation?

utb

They've just recruited an almost entirely new team, so it's no surprise if they need time to play well.

Remember, you don't need to compare it to men's football. They have different bodies. Nice to support Sheffield United in any form.
