A shameless imitation of another thread, but despite our struggles we have seen some decent players in our time in league one, so I'd go with the following:

GK: Moore
LB: Lafferty
CB: O'Connell
CB: Maguire
RB: Lowton
RW: Williamson
CM: Fleck
CM: McDonald
LW: Murphy
ST: Sharp
ST: Evans

S1: Ramsdale
S2: Brayford
S3: Freeman
S4: Basham
S5: Quinn
S6: Blackman
S7: Adams

With Coutts, Duffy, EEL, Wright being the unlucky ones to miss out. That squad would be worth around £15 million now and would certainly hold its own in the championship, maybe higher when they were at their prime.

Manager: Wilder for the league, Clough for the cup games.

I'd be interested to see if our current team will beat the points tally of the 2011/12 side. The competition back then was fiercer of course, and its a good point you make because as a team now we are really pulling together. But you couldn't say you would prefer Wright over Maguire for example, and that's certainly not a dig.

Just one point.
You've got the sub goalkeeper for the Best L1 Team as a player with ZERO L1 appearances.

Moore

Lowton Maguire O'Connell

Williamson McDonald Fleck Quinn

Evans Sharp Murphy

The likes of Blackman, Coady, Coutts and Duffy unlucky to miss out. And there'd be plenty of others to choose from had we signed certain players who were right under our nose.

__________Moore
__Brayford Maguire O’Connell
Freeman___Coady___Fleck__Quinn
__________Murphy
_______Sharp____Evans

Subs:- Howard, Lowton, Basham, McDonald, Williamson, Duffy, Blackman

Ability wise I imagine Ramsdale is better than Long, Howard and Simonsen despite no league one appearances. Of course we have to be thankful for Howard's heroics against West Ham in the cup game.

Coady is a very good shout as well. As Ricky said we've missed some great opportunities, seem to recall Callum Wilson being available but we refused to pay the 500k asking price or something.

I would replace McDonald with Coady in that line up and Brayford for Lowton. Howard as back up keeper

So we're not picking a right back who has scored 10 goals (and counting) in our best league one 11??

Still think Lowton was better. And imagine him in this team. If Kez ends up playing in the PL, I'll have a re-think.

Using our current formation, I'd go;

Moore
----------
Wright
Maguire
O'Connell
---------
Freeman
McDonald
Fleck
Lafferty
---------
Murphy
--------
Sharp
Evans
---------
Subs
---------
Lowton
EEL
Williamson
Coutts
Duffy
Quinn
Blackman

As soon as we've been ejaculated from this league I will instantly forget we were ever i it roll over and have a ciggy

Dang, Phillips is a great call, such a shame he was only here for a very short amount of time. Put him in for Williamson then the squad will be worth over 20 million pounds

Freeman is by far the best player in a wing back/right back position we have had for years and years UTB

If we're playing wing backs I'd have Harris over Lafferty. Bob's attacking play was much better. I will, however, concede that Lafferty is more solid defensively.

Just thought I'd bump this up so we don't get too depressed by all the other negative threads about past players ;)

Little did we know xd that Evans and Sharp will actually turn out to play alongside each other next season. Might also get Brayford back as well

Maguire alone is worth around £15million. That squad would be worth more like £30mil.

our best league one team managed to get 100 points
no brainer

macdonald , wouldnt get in that team
blackman wouldnt make the 24

they were slightly better than the shit we used to have
but are nt worthy for our champions

has he scored any in the last two years ? Blackman
he makes Hanson look prolific

I'd be pretty sure that if our present day team played in league one in the 2011-12 season they wouldn't have got 90 points let alone a hundred. MacDonald for Coutts and Cresswell for Hanson for starters. That's not a dig at our current side btw

Then how do you explain no larger clubs coming in for any of our players in January? MacDonald is rated as one of the best players in the championship and was instrumental in getting Wolves promoted from League One.

Nearly everybody's gone for Macdonald over Coutts?!!!! Just don't see it myself. Like they say, game of opinions. MacDonald didn't go to the championship though, did he? He was transferred to a team in our division? Think you'll find in January, if, as I suspect, we hit the ground running, we'll have the same problems as the Barnsley Chops did, re wages.

I would have macdonald in the team but I can't agree on this team not being better then that team. Evans carried us that year, as shown by what happened when he left. Sure some better individuals but nowhere near as good as a team. They bottled it, ain't no bottlers in this team.
