SUFC Best League One XI

I would have macdonald in the team but I can't agree on this team not being better then that team. Evans carried us that year, as shown by what happened when he left. Sure some better individuals but nowhere near as good as a team. They bottled it, ain't no bottlers in this team.

What happened after he 'left' was more a psychological factor IMO which damaged us, demonstrated by the fact we were doing very well in the first eight games of that season which he missed. Any team in the world would probably have bottled it from that position.

My doubts on whether our current team would have gone up is based on the competition and level of that league which was much higher in 2012. Our defense would have been punished a lot more than it has this season for starters, but I don't insist on it really as its a counterfactual

Then how do you explain no larger clubs coming in for any of our players in January? MacDonald is rated as one of the best players in the championship and was instrumental in getting Wolves promoted from League One.
So your implying none of our players were instrumental ?
Hes done nothing jin the championship and nothing more than any of our current squad.
He wasthe best of a poor side we had and as such youve put him on a pedestal .Our current midfield is just as good in getting out of league one

Oh yeah of course, playing virtually every single game for a team that has finished in the top six can be considered doing nothing in the championship. Fulham fans have a very high opinion of him, I know this because I've watched them play a few times this season its virtual common knowledge.

In his first season in league one he was instrumental in helping us get to 90 points before getting promotion with Wolves. Coutts on the other hand was poor this season apart. And by the way your interpretation of what I said was completely ridiculous.

its about the best sheff utd side in league one , and the one thats just won 100 points needs no alteration at all
it worked as it was
no "better" players were possible to put in , it worked as it was

blackman cant make it in a struggling Derby side

Blackman's been in the Championship, we've been in L1.

He was good for us in L1 and on course for 20+ goals - mainly from the right wing.

Reading spent £1m on him, Derby spent £2.5m.

He was outstanding for Reading before Derby signed him.

That struggling Derby side has players like Tom Ince in it.

But he has one quiet injury hit season and he wouldn't get in our L1 squad ahead of Hanson, Done and O'Shea. OK then.

Be careful.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. I see your Nick Blackman and I raise you one Connor Sammon:

Wigan spent £600k on him, Derby spent £1.2m.

Using what Derby paid is no measure of a player's greatness, or otherwise.
