Inspired by the actual ballon d'or, I felt this was a good way to sum up a good 2014.

Next up: Best Player

To qualify, the player needs to have been at the club since before the summer transfer window and still be here.

i went for doyle purely on the fact he is the most steady of the lot, has not really had a bad game i can remember since getting sent off last season

He is definitely up there. One of several players on that list that are a class above this division.

I'm sure I'm watching the wrong Doyle!
The guy I keep watching might "do all the dirty work, do all the unsung hard unnoticed work, break up play, lead by example" and all that other bollocks people claim but for me he gives the ball away more than ANYONE at the club, and offers zero going forward.
If basham hit the ground running we wouldn't even remember who Doyle was right now

Howard (just) for me, some of saves hes made this season have kept us in games or turned 1 point into 3.

The other thing with Doyle ,despite putting more tackles in and having more touches than any other player he very rarely misses games through injury.
As for giving the ball away ,I suggest the poster above has a good look at 3 or 4 other players in our team.
We miss Doyle badly when he doesn't play and in my opinion an injury to Doyle or Howard could be very costly to us.

Doyle is always open for a pass and will always find a man with a pass. He is also a strong leader (the backbone of the team). He is also very consistent and does all the dirty work. There is not that many players in the 3rd division that can do that aged 33.

As for Doyle,i'm not doubting he's doing a job at this level atm,what i completely disagreed with was the statement that he's a CLASS above this level when he clearly isn't.
