Inserting the usual and genuine admiration for what CW has done for the club, which can’t be underestimated. He has also turned a mid-table group of players into title challengers, but:

When it’s not working, he doesn’t make enough changes. We were on the rack against Stoke and he tried to hold on being one example, but the derby was a bigger one. Taking off our best player (McG) for Clarke simply didn’t work and we relied on dominating the game but creating very little.

The game was crying out for a Johnson type to get it wide and run at their full backs, as messing around with side to side simply wasn’t getting through.

It was very frustrating to watch. Just wanted my two penneth and apologies if there are other threads saying the same thing!

I couldn't work out why he took McG off either, thought he was one of our better players. In fact we seemed to have less impetus when he did go off.

Agree.
Brought Johnson, Washington etc in to offer something different, really would like to see us try something different when it’s not happening.

.....I'd also hoped that we'd brought Woodburn in this season for something more than just winding up Liverpool/Wales fans and football pundits by not playing him.

Goldilox look knackered to me so it was a sensible sub at that time - he was excellent on Friday btw

Don't think we have enough game changers in the squad at the minute and I would have thought that Clarke would be really up for the challenge. I don't know enough about our players to warrant a 'Why him instead of him?' statement. It's easy from the stands but the fans do not see what goes off in training or know what plan 'B' is going to be. We always have a plan B but it doesn't always work.

This Jan tranny window will make or break our season and I trust CWAK to do the glaringly obvious additions wise - if they are given the funds to do so that is.

Either way, we seem to be progressing year on year and just think where we 'could' be in a couple of years' time if funding is provided and CWAK is still with us?

The Pork, on the other hand...........oh deary me! :p

Maybe brought Johnson on left wing and gone 4-4-2 for last 20 mins with Duffy on right,Stevens left back,Freeman right back and either Bash or Egan off.

Duffy couldn’t get up and down the wing after playing for 70 minutes. If we’d done that I’d have expected Unluhakay to stick Nuhiu on, tell their left midfielder to make runs beyond Duffy and hit crosses in towards the big freak. Assuming I actually wanted to win the game, of course.

Johnson and Baldock would have been the ideal subs to bring on as our wing backs are basically our attacking wingers so Freeman and Stevens needed bringing off. Also Washington or Woodburn would have done more running than Clarke with their bit of pace and also younger.
