I thought we should have fetched bogle and sharp on if/when we were winning a game comfortably, not to try and win a game.Strange decision imo.

Fine balance and we don’t have the balance down the left just now…

Felt like we went gung-ho with the subs, not necessarily intentionally but we had players looking tired and players needing game time

A criticism of mine last season and sometimes under Wilder was that we didn’t always use the bench enough. With Tuesday in mind we swapped a few around today

It didn’t really work but probably more about player management as much as anything else

He stood out of the best of an average bunch today. Maybe Norwood aswell was decent ,

Norwood was shite today mcburnie poor great finish tho Ndiaye very quiet and let this put to bed the stupid thought that some blades think or thought Khadra could play LWB not ever can he.

I was confused by Doyle coming off and not Berge, as Doyle was constantly involved and Berge in patches here and there.

Switching Khadra for Bogle made sense as Khadra started brightly then disappeared for the last 20 minutes of the first half and was anonymous in the second. That said "Safety First," George was frustrating with his lack of crosses and constant back passes when in advanced positions. So we had no threat down the right. I expected George to be moved to the left and Bogle to the right, to give us an attacking outlet on the right as Basham was crying out for support.

As for McBurnie. Until the goal he did relatively nothing other than to try to get into fights. He was a red card waiting to happen and was lucky to still be on the pitch after throwing a punch at someone during the melee in the second. He had to come off regardless of scoring.

The subs were a mixed bag but taking Doyle off through us off our game and we lost the midfield in our attacks. Norwood played well but he had no outlet next to him when Doyle went off. A very strange sub indeed.

Also thought the Doyle one was a bit weird but I thought Berge was doing well and in the later stages tried to drive forwards and create things a few times (was it his pass for Sharp's chance?) so it was either Doyle or Ndiaye to come off in my mind. Can understand wanting to keep Ndiaye on as he can win a match out of nothing but thought Doyle was really bright today

It's clear we have nothing to bring on when midfield is playing badly , Berge wasn't interested today , hardly involved , but Doyle gets hooked + McAtee left on bench. Very disappointing.

Bogle coming on that early at 1-0 was quite a surprise, but I'm all for it. We've waited long enough, we can't waste games, if these players are ready to play again then let's use them and not fuck about

I would have just put him in his natural RWB position for his first game back

Baldock LWB to guarantee defensive strength would have been the better call too, especially with Chong on their right

Doyle should have stayed on, probably with Berge dropping back too

Then McB or Sharp and Ndiaye or Brewster up top

They were awkward opponents, we were weakened and below our best, and didn't look all that likely to score again. This is one where I wouldn't have blamed PH for trying to shore it up with 20 to go

Wrong time to take McBurnie off it should have been Ndiaye as nothing at all was going for him, his 1st touch was poor today. I'd have kept Oli on just to help the defence out at set pieces. I'd have kept Doyle on too. Those playing two games for their countries looked jaded.

Norwood wasn't shite today - ridiculous comment imo.

He did his job OK -as he does most of the time and is often a joy to watch.

Berge just doesn't demonstrate the strengths we know he has enough and is nowhere near reaching the potential most think he has . He is meh most of the time and often goes awol . He doesn't drive the team forward and boss games which he should do much more taking into account his physicality , his undoubted skill and the level he is playing at . When i see Berge`s name on the team sheet i switch on a mindset of anticipation and that today will be the day - but it often isn't , we get flashes but thats all . Doyle also did ok and was the only real energy we had in midfiel but he is still learning and was a bit hit and miss.

Therefore imo Norwood did his job ok , the others in the mix didn't .

Norwood isn't shite - has never been shite and those who think he is shite - well , pleas e, shake your heads a bit.

He is often the player the opposition want to stop .. thats how shite he is

I thought that we saw again that Berge is much better further forward, anyone still peddling the defensive or holding midfielder tale hasn’t been watching. Playing Khadra as a left winger with Sander playing deeper didn’t work albeit I get the desire to get some width while playing a four defender system. RND didn’t have the same attacking effect he normally does as Khadra was hugging the line leaving little room for overlaps. Or at least that’s how I saw it.

Norwood was shite today I havent said he is shite, your opinion is your opinion mines mine. I thought all the midfield was a bit flat today.

Can we be constructive about this and ask the question what was it about Norwood, that made him shite today? I'd love to know as I thought he was superb today, second only to Basham for MOTM.
