I think the PL turned into a very deflating experience for us and now the incentive of getting there isn't as great as before. But it bloody should be because if we don't do it this season, it is not at all clear when our next good chance will be

There's always some excuse you can find, but bottom line for me is that if in this position the fans can't rouse themselves for 90 mins every week or 2 to try and help the club achieve its goal, that is pretty weak and bizarre

Think we’ve got too used to success over the past few years. We’ve gone from being underdogs and trying to do the impossible to being favourites every week and expecting top 2 as a minimum.

Yes the standing restrictions etc in the top right corner do seem to have killed any atmosphere.

It's a Sheffield phenomenon. Local people here are always down on themselves, down on their city, down on their football team. There's no romance or style in our city. It's all just flat caps and whippets. Never going to change so please don't expect a Dortmund like atmosphere. You'll be constantly disappointed. You could make a start though. When someone asks you how you are, stop saying steady or fair to middling. Start to express yourself. Say I'm absolutely wonderful thank you and how are you?

It's been dreadful. I actually remember the atmosphere being pretty shit around this time under Warnock in our promotion season as the performances dropped off. The difference this time is we are still winning.

I think a factor is that we are currently so far clear that the games at the moment don't have that "must win" feel so there's not much jeopardy. It's no excuse though and I'm not really sure what will improve it. Losing a few games maybe!

Myself and those around me spent most of the match tearing our hair out as the players conceded possession and for the entire second half sat back and let a mediocre Stoke side batter us. Too busy muttering 'Oh for fucks sake', to sing with joy.
