Strange quiet atmosphere yesterday

Loads better atmosphere last night
Best it's been in a while.

That's because I was back from my latest holiday having missed last Saturday's game.

I didn't notice what type of beer or lager was on sale as i didn't buy one.

Shutters in the South Stand all went down about 7.15 . We were told it was an automated response to a smoke bomb being set off at the Hull end .

Meanwhile, the BLUT made so much noise last night they almost woke up a snoozing pigeon roosting in the rafters.
Almost, but not quite.
I agree that our B-Block chant of “sit down!”needs work though and whilst the tutting is at times frequent, it isn’t co-ordinated.

I was in there last night stuck between 4 Dutch guys and 2 Southern Students and a bloke behind me with his kids who was calling us "Sheffield ".

That might explain it.

I wonder whether lockdown has killed it. Have we forgotten how to sing?
I used to go home with my throat raw, but last night I hardly sang at all. Joined in stuff from the SS but crowd around me were silent, so you feel like an idiot. (BLUT though, full of tourists)

yes im afraid i agree with you blut apart from a few round us at the back were mainly just sat there silent and to be honest most of the 4 stands are like that at the lane thesedays i cant understand it bramall lane use to rock but not anymore and i dont think mobile phones have helped

I did my best to get the atmosphere going last night. I turned the torch on my phone on and started waving it around, but NOBODY joined in and some people even told me to put it away and get a life. I can't do this all on my own, guys.

Been in the BLUT a few times recently and you do have to have a bit of grit to get through the initial embarrassment of singing up there with everyone turning around to look at you, but keep it up mate we'll get there in the end!

It was really pleasing that G & H started singing Jocs magic hat song, a few of us on the family stand around me were joining in too, but not many.
This would be brilliant and bring back sooo many memories if the whole ground sang it again.

Sorry to brong the mood down, but more tgan a few are literally no longer with us. Remember the first games after lockdown? The empty seats because that person who sat there for 10 years had passed away.
We never properly mourned that

Totally agree
Like someone posted above, it'd fantastic if we were in a position towards the back end of the season to give Joc a cameo role for a few minutes.
Now that would be a bloody special atmosphere
