Oddly we played (in spells) than on Tuesday in my opinion.

Certainly didn't deserve to lose, comedy defending again for their second goal.

Crowd were a lot most positive and couldn't be faulted.

No idea why we took JCR off for Sammon, he was just about only player who had their beating.

A fair few of our players are technically very good, just not all together!

Very frustrating game that we should have won, never mind drawn.

They played well after their first goal and shaded the first half but second goal was totally out of the blue.

Ref and linesman below par too.

A shite start to a Saturday and to labour a point, should we expect automatic promotion, we need to be beating teams placed 14th at home.

To be fair I think Millwall played well defensively as a unit.

Our build up play was pretty good but we struggled to create clear chances.

The concern again is that Howard didn't have much to do but we still conceded 2 goals.

Also our set piece play, both defending them and attacking is really poor. When ever we get a corner you know we'll never score.

Howard made two cracking saves as well.

You can analyse all you like the bare facts are that we had one shot on target all game against their seven
Done, Adams, and Hammond all had chances to shoot in the first half when in excellent positions yet decided to take either another touch or another pass !
As for Sammon - after the Peterborough game he has been a complete waste of space ! JCR at least had the beating of their defence and create some real opportunities today where as Sammon was woeful when he came on !
I am afraid the honeymoon period is well and truly over for the manager - his performance must be questioned !
He went to the board and asked for big bucks to bring in his man Hammond - If I was Jim Phipps I would be asking Mr Adkins to explain himself !

They were all clear chances to shoot and we didn't, that is what frustrates a lot of the fans.
As I said in another post we have to "stop walking the ball into the net", if teams give us a golden opportunity to shoot we must start taking them.

I don't think 14th is a fair reflection of us (Millwall)...especially with a game in hand in a tight league.

We've shaken off our relegation hang over now I think, and should bother the top 6.

Also, we are the third biggest club in the division after you (in terms of history & crowds)...and Wigan (in terms of recent history & budget)...i dont care how many tickets traditional third division club Bradford City give away!

Anyways, point being is you've been on a good run & lost narrowly to a team that should be up there.

As I said to you lot in the summer, it's difficult, but you've got to kind of let the past go (failure under Clough) and forget about your big club baggage too. Does you no good at all.

Easy for me to say - I'm not a fan of a big club stuck in the third tier. So, apologies. But it's the only way to approach.

It's why Millwall always bounce back relatively quickly from this level. We don't have big club expectations, but do have a confidence born out of being a decent sized club at this level, but one that can take losing to likes of Peterborough United on the chin.

You lot are stuck in a proper rut if you keep going around in circles.

Anyways, I'm pleasantly surprised our injury ravaged, young team got the three points! As still think you'll be up there.

Liked your OP. Agreed with all. However, regarding this part of it. Unless they raised their game immensely today, they're in a false position.
They'll be top 6 come the end. They'll take a play off spot at the expense of Bury, Gillingham, Walsall or Burton (maybe all)

That fits in with Edwards best quote of the day" That is the 8th sideways pass in a row!"
What is wrong with them do they lack guts, all afraid to take a risk.

Having looked at the goals again - I think Howard, despite making other saves, is culpable for both. The first one is a not powerful loopy header that he should easily tip over and the second he actually manages to kick in his own net.

Agree with OP, came away thinking we'd played quite well. Ironically I thought over the 90 mins we were much stronger defensively and in midfield than we have been in a number of home games. Also agree that a tendency to overplay meant that we didn't have as many actual shots on target. On another day, Che scores from that early chance and it's a completely different game.
