Our record was 22 games in 1899-1900 before losing at Bury on 20th January 1900. We finished runners up to Aston Villa.

Enjoying that this happens roughly once a decade with surprising consistency; and each time the unbeaten run goes on roughly 1 week longer than the previous time.

You could have saved yourself the trouble of writing “failed in” before play offs, on account of that’s all we’ve ever done

And every blade who went to Old Trafford in 71/72 and saw George Best get THAT goal knows that if Ted Helmsley hadn’t got injured and left Gil Reece to pick up the run of GB he wouldn’t have scored and United wouldn’t have lost and the undefeated run would have continued…
