BTW Agyemang ALWAYS scores against us
Shouldn't be saying this but 2 goals in about 20 appearances

Like Alan Smith - no goal for five years and ........FFSShouldn't be saying this but 2 goals in about 20 appearances![]()
bl**dy hell.. didn't realise they had so many household names.. messi, xavi, iniesta.. oops wrong page.. you said it yourself Olle.. 'when they beat us and we had monty and doyle in midfield'.. we're a different propostion with KMac and a fully firing Willo. i rest my case
However, I don't think Brentford's home record is spectacular and I think Wednesday are likely to beat them.
Brentford have lost once at home this year, to us.
I doubt Slew will start and if he does feature it will be last 10. Slew started with us quite brightly but lack of goals or even opportunities and Agy coming on strong has kept from starting.Chances are Slew and Agyemang will score just so the shit really hits the fan.
But they've lost 6 at home in all, and have a total of 36 home points in all, which as I said is not spectacular. I hope Brentford do us a favour, but I feel Wednesday are in better form than them and and are likely to prove too strong for them. Just as last week's events had a detrimental affect on our performance at MK Dons, they probably gave Wednesday a lift.
I think the state of mind of both team and supporters will be very important factors in deciding who gets that last automatic promotion place.
Wednesday have not done brilliantly recently against the teams in and around the play offs - the draw at Colchester and a scraped late win at home to Carlisle. I think any neutral would back Brentford to get a point at least from this game. However, us United fans always think the worse :-(
I think you've got that wrong. Their recent form against teams in and around the play offs is a win at Notts County, a win at Huddersfield, a draw at Colchester and a win at home to Carlisle. That strikes me as a pretty good return.
With regard to the late winner agianst Carlisle, a win is a win no matter when the goal is scored.
Yes, but it shows signs of nerves....
Come on, help me here![]()
I wish I could! But I actually think it shows their good form and lack of nreves. They seem to grind out a win by pure determination.
I think we have to forget about Wednesday and assume that they will win their last two games. To go up automatically we have to do it ourselves and not rely on others.

I don't assume it. The Pigs will not beat Brentford; nor would the Pig fans concede a win for us anything like as readily as some of you white flag wavers. How odd that Brentford away is a piece of cake, but Stevenage at home is laced with hemlock.
This insidious negativity will feed on itself and pervade The Lane on Saturday if we're not careful. Stop it! Now!
I say the Pigs won't beat Brentford but whether they do or not we should back our team like never before on Saturday. "I haven't posted anything negative or positive about our chances against Stevenage" coupled with a character reference for the Pigs, is less than encouraging!
Likely to be on the bench. 6 starts, 3 sub appearances, no goals.
If pointing out that we need to do the business ourselves and can't rely on others to do it for us is negative, I must speak a different language to you!
To be honest, Wednesdays have been on an excellent run of form. However, as long as we concentrate on winning our last two, then we should forget about them - that's out of our control. Them losing/drawing on Saturday would be a bonus, not a necessity.

All your posts on this thread are (express and implied) in praise of a workmanlike but mediocre Pigs team, with the usual diffident pessimism of a "Blade" when it comes to your own team. I hope you offer them a little more encouragement on Saturday, or is that not the Blades Way?
I'm sorry if I appear to be singling you out. That is not my intention. I could just as easily have selected Bladesman's "Extracts from Ode to Joy"
Some of you are a miserable bunch of defeatists. Smile and join in the fun!. You might just enjoy it.
The Blades are Going Up!!!!

That is nonsense. Brentford are 8th and Wednesday are 3rd, Wednesday are on a fantastic run and Brentford have lost 2 on the bounce, the Pigs have something to play for and they do not. This has away win written all over it. Only a red and white spectacle wearing fool would expect any result for Brentford.
