Stevenage ticketing

Well, I've just gone to try and purchase some tickets for this, believing that they went on general sale today, only to be told it's been changed and that the loyalty points system is now in use. Well that's fine for me - if I want to go alone - but the two people I was planning to go with will now have to wait until November 4th, the day before the game, to find out if they can get a ticket.

That is ridiculous. The website says that the change was made "After discussions with supporters groups...". So come on, own up. Whose fault is it?

Not ideal is it? For those who don't live near Sheffield - I actually live around six miles from Stevenage - it means placing a lot of faith in both the ticket office admin and the Royal Mail to get a ticket having to wait until the Thursday before the game.

Given the pricing, I may elect to pay £19 and stand on the home terrace as there is no danger of the home areas selling out. They also have the novel idea of being able to pay on the turnstile!

I'd doubt it, we've not played there before and we have less tickets than the amount we took to Orient.

Good stuff. The pub options are limited/shit but at least are close to the station and in the direction of Broadhall Way. It's a real shithole.

You could pay on the day at Wycombe too. I can't see it being a problem. Seems a bit daft for the ticket office to delay the general sale date so long though.

Im 300 points short but just checked them online and they've made a right balls up of my points, apparently I've been to southhampton and portsmouth which I haven't but have got points for them, then there are loads of games I have been to that aren't on there, oh well tomorrow it is then

I actually rang up as much to vent as anything else, but the woman was (as they always are) sound and said that there had been quite a few grumbles about it, and they're hoping to move the general sale date forward, possibly (though she did say it's unconfirmed) as early as this Monday.

It does make you wonder why they ever bothered changing the original plan, though. Supporters groups? Who, exactly?

To be fair, I think it was right to introduce the points system for this game with it being a ground we've never played at before and getting a fairly low allocation of tickets. I just don't think the stages they've done it in have been fair.

The new ones that Rooks have posted are much better, had they been that way in the first place I'm sure there would have been few complaints

Good that the club are listening (although clearly the first time they listened to someone who was stark raving mad). I'm not sure about:

"Due to lower ticket sales than expected, the dates of sale have been brought forward"

Rather than deflect the blame to the fans, wouldn't it have been more honest to say:

"Due to the original dates being silly, the dates of sale have been brought forward"?

Prehaps a better way of distrubuting in demand tickets for away games down South is to let Walthy and rest of the southern Blades have first dibs and then let the others have a go.

Prehaps London Blades could propose it.

All ticketing priorities to be based entirely upon geographical proximity to the ground in question.

There is absolutely 0% chance that they've discussed this with these anonymous supporters groups, I would bet my house on it.

There's a lot wrong with the ticketing process at the moment. Ticket prices, stupid supporters card, not selling me a ticket in family stand ticket without making me buy a junior ticket as well despite sitting in there for 17 years, etc etc and now this. Needs to be sorted because we're losing income thick and fast because to some people it's not worth the effort/money.

I phone up on Tuesday and had a moan at the girl who was on the other end. I pointed out how ridiculous it was. Steventage will be my 7th game of the season and yet I would have had to wait til the Thursday to buy tickets (still less than 5000 loyalty points). This would mean I would have to pick up tickets from Stevenage. I would be relying on Blades supporters coach brining the tickets and passing them onto Stevenage. Then I'd have to hope for no queue's/competence from the Stevenage staff etc. Just plain daft. Funnily enough I stated over the phone 'why not give people with 10'000 points a few days, then 5'000, then open it up for everyone else with plenty of time to spare'. Seems many others said the same thing. Certainly not claiming it was my idea, just plain sensible. Glad they listened to the fans (for once). I'll buy tickets Sat-di before the game now they've changed it

Official Supporters Club Members, 2011 Superdraw Members and 2500+ Loyalty Points.

Does this mean that you need to be an Official Supporters Club Member AND have 2500+ Loyalty Points, or just one of the above?
When I got my Yeovil ticket I called up on the day of the Official Supporters Club Member allocation and was told that I also needed 2500+ Loyalty Points. Now I'm wondering if this is the case for ALL away matches, and if so, what was the point of paying £10 or £15 or whatever it was for a membership if it gives me absolutely no advantage when buying away tickets, as I have to wait for the General Sale day.

Anyone any idea?
