On the 1st point, I meant we have to let Diego go on international duty, it's the rules.
On Scougal, we should not have to let him go if we don't want to.

I take your point about Diego. As far as I know Fergie would have had a sick note translated, and sent if he wasn't prepared to release one of his players. They can't make an unfit player play. On the other hand, He has played, scored, so surely, we can let him loose on the Addicks. I just hope that he has no injury worries.

Darren is a solicitor. He does.

Sadly not. That's what comes of wanting to "do good" when you are young rather than chasing the cash.

I may have mentioned this before, but when I was at law college, one of my lecturers said that the first decision any aspiring lawyer has to make is whether or not they want to drive a BMW. if they do, they act for large companies. If they don't they act for poor people.

If Diego is being nursed alon,.I find it strange that he has been allowed to play for Italy, where he sustained serious injury. If he's fit enough to play international football,he should be fit enough to play for us.

I was discussing this last night with a group of friends and one of them raised a semi valid point that running around for an u19s friendly is probably a much less physical and demanding game than chucking him into a league one showdown where players will recognise his skill and do their best to smash into him and stop him in his tracks. The 90 mins for Italy I imagine did him the world of good and is more game time under his belt. Our nige will know what he can do, have faith, when he brings him on in a boring 0-0 play off final and he nets the winner he will become an instant blades legend :D

What non material things would you not have the inclination to do yourself that you would feel it necessary to pay someone else to do?

.

Well I'd need an Alfred if I'm going to b serious about taking up the mantel of The Dark Knight...

Fergie would have the sick note in and play him at the weekend.

He came on at half time (and scored the equaliser 9 minutes later) but 45 minutes against Germany (ranked second in the world) will have been a good test for him. I hope he makes the bench at the weekend

Contract clauses are something we have no control over, except it might bring into question the capability of the person who negotiates on United's behalf.

The big difference now is that we have a manager who you'd have thought wouldn't stand for his better players being sold, unless of course there was a suitable replacement waiting in the wings. I can't see why Clough would have come here unless the intention was to build a team capable of competing at a higher level.[/quote

So far Mr Clough has shown us that he gets the best out of what he has and is able to persuade who he wants, to take their chances with the Blades. A truly formidable manager. IMO he reflects his upbringing in football. A touch of his Dad, John Harris, and most of all himself,

a touch of John Harris, and dare I say a stubborn streakand he doesn't suffer fools, or disruptive players lightly

Hi Mate, thanks for your post, agree with all of that, and it's wonderful to read your thopughts, especially considering how far away you are. Funnily, I have a mate who now runs a decent cafe in the heart of Sheffield and he's from NZ. His place is called Tamper, great coffee and really good, no nonsense scoff.

Finger's crossed that by the time you read this we'll be in the semi's! UTB
