I've just realised that April 23 will be my 50th Anniversary of Blade-dom! I remember (at 6 years old, as you ask) my parents taking me to Old Trafford to see the Blades. (Yeah, 1962-2012)
In case I got lost in the crowd, they took the prudent advice to dress me up in a distinctive jumper. It was bright red....
Anyway, I did get lost in the crowd but they found me. Bugger.
All I know was that it was 1-1 and 'Doc' Pace scored in front of 29,536. The next day we played them at BDTBL and lost 2-3 after leading at 70 mins. by goals from Pace and Hodgson (nowt ever changes!). Crowd 25,734. I don't recall being at the return game.
Any other old buggers/stattos on here able to help me with more details?
(Oh, and don't bother sending cake, money vouchers etc. Honest.
