I am absolutely delighted with Nigel Clough. IMO he is the best appointment since John Harris. He is showing a combination of Bassett's ability to get the best out of players that were struggling e.g. Flynn, who I always liked, and Murphy, with the passion of Warnock and the quiet class of gentleman Jim.

I am optimistic that provided we don't make silly sales (James Beattie (Stoke), Blackman (Reading), Lowton (Villa)) we will progress to the PL. I really hope that SUFC is to Nigel Cough what Forest was to his dad.

So for God's/Allah's sake McCabe/Prince Abdullah don't screw this up!

This team is exciting to watch at times and is beginning to look really solid. Yep I think we are going to emulate Southampton and Norwich and go right back to the top and pass those porcine bastards on the way.

Lovely post BladeFisher, great to read such optimism after all the crap we've had to put up with over the years.

Without knowing, I'd be mightily surprised if Nigel and someone from the Prince's camp hadn't already begun discussions about transfers, budgets etc. Personally I hope we sign one if not two quality forwards, but I trust in our manager and like the fact that he won't buy just because he can. A wise head has our manager, which will serve us well as he gets us in shape for what's ahead. Compared to us, the S6 sleepwalkers are in deep crap, so it really doesn't matter what their supporters spout.

Good post mate UTB

Good post bf ,just a quick one, if they screw up and dont back clough then there will be the biggest backlash from the fans the club has ever seen because we all know cloughy is the king now and the fans would not take the bullshit excuses of the sales all the time

at this moment in time im willing to believe anything, win the FA cup, gain promotion, sign lionel messi but if we get spanked 6-0 by hull, fail to win promotion or even get relegated, I will still believe clough is building something that could financed properly, not just throw shit loads of cash at it, but buy players that will make a difference, players that want to play in the red and white shirt but without doing a QPR, go as far as we the fans could dream of.
sometimes you have to hit the bottom before you can climb to the top, and early this season we certainly hit bottom, but now is the time to show acumen and faith and belief by the board of our beloved club, and reach for the stars without leaving the ground.
