So we seem to be lacking the stamina to play our usual high tempo, high pressing way for 90 mins and as the season goes on this becomes more evident.

As shown by last night and countless other games as soon as we run out of steam we start dropping deeper and deeper and start making basic mistakes all over the pitch. Costing us games. It happened on 25 mins last night.

So what's the plan B when this eventually happens? We can't carry on throwing away results. The first team apart from Sharp, McGoldrick and Duffy are all under 30 and young. Money doesn't buy you stamina and concentration levels.

Any suggestions, idea folks?

That's why it was imperative that we got quastriker competition and Duffy competeition in the summer. The majority on here were telling me that it didn't matter because managers play their best players every game for the full ninety. It'd be interesting to see if they've changed their minds?
The fact we have ageing players in key positions is of course part of this equation: Duffy, Mcgoldrick, Clarke, Sharp. The forward players are the key to the pressing game.

It is something that has bothered me for some time. We do have periods during the season when our stamina, as a squad, appears to drop.

My take is that working the players as hard as apparently is the case during the week has its pros and cons. On balance, pros probably outway the cons but a by product must surely be, on occasion, a very tired set of players walking out on match days.

Difficult balance to get right !!
