He keeps it because you can't take a first team (1-11) number off an existing player unless you want to piss them off. Despite the protestations of the armchair warriors on here Lundstram is an important squad player for us who hasn't, as far as I can remember, ever let us down. In fact, he should have credit in the bank from that Grealish tackle.

They won't change, people have said that every single season since Wilder got here and gave McNulty and Scougall 7 and 8 at the start of pre-season. What they wear on their training kit in pre-season is their squad number.

The only players who have had different numbers once the season started are ones that never had a training number in pre-season. Brayford a few years back wore a few different numbers in pre-season after being stripped of 2, and ended up as 30 when he was in the squad for a League Cup game. People like Clarke, Evans, Wright this summer just have initials on their training gear so could still end up with any number in the unlikely event they ended up in the squad.

Your star centre forward always played no. 9 back in the day. That is what Billy is, a star centre forward. He has never been an inside left like TC and the numbering I gave replicates as near as possible, that scenario.
