Not sure about re-investing…..those sales might not bring in enough to balance the books.

We received £35 million from Sky this season…….next season it’s reduced to £7 million.

Much about our transfer strategy is out of control.
Basically if we receive a good big (£15 milion plus) for anyone….then we are under big pressure to sell that player whether we want to or not.
Just hoping there’s an auction amongst PL clubs for someone like Peck, Sereki, Brooks etc and we can get over £20 million.
If i had to sacrifice one of those it would be Peck (along with Hamer), I would like to keep them obviously but I think Peck would fetch more than the others and easier to get a box to box midfielder.

With the partnership Brooks & Seriki have formed, I think it would be daft to break that up. But we do need players to push them and challenge for the spots. Would like to see us sign some fast direct athletic players for a change for attacking side of things.

How long did Hamer have on his Coventry contract when we signed him?
Not sure but financially we’re going into next season with no parachute payments with a player earning a lot of money and I bet we are still paying the finance on him

Lot to do in the summer, plenty need shipping , matos, Shackleton, mcguinness, chong, RND, Zatterstrom, curtis, and probably some I have forgot.
Don’t see any way Peck is here next year , think Seriki will get a move to prem as well. Hamer will also be gone. Campbell will only have a year left so new contract or gone, then wouldn’t be against Cannon leaving.

All them out of contract can go and not bothered about any of the loan players coming back, although think Bindon may be back on loan.

One will come back into the squad, if all listed leave then probably looking at double figures in arrivals.

Plan for the summer should be pace and power. And the conversations about physical substitutions needs to stop. It’s ridiculous professional footballers aren’t fit enough and there is 0 excuse for it

It should be the plan, but it won’t be. It isn’t something we prioritise.

Done a bit more of a detailed look at this and have some thoughts.

Current squad as best I can make out;

  • I've left out players in the U21 squad that are likely not to impact the first team
  • I've include players over 21 that will 'age out' of the youth team so need to go out or impact the first team.

I'm expecting to sell Hamer, Campbell & Peck as I think we'll get enough to offset the drop in parachute payments, there should be a market for them and the current squad can handle their absence best (rather than losing, say Brooks & Seriki).

That could leave us with this squad for the next season.

Assuming no change in formation we desperately need high quality additions at RB, CB, CM & FW. This is where I'd be looking to the premier league for unfancied experienced players that can come in and make an immediate impact.

Potential free transfers:

  • Josh Dasilva (Brentford)
  • Tommy Doyle (Birmingham)
  • Ben Wilmot (Stoke)
  • Josh Maja (West Brom)
  • James Bree (Southampton)
  • Jonathan Panzo (Birmingham)
  • Daryl Dike (West Brom)

Hamer is gone. His head's been gone since January. We can only hope that we can get £6m up front from Coventry if they go up.

Coventry won't have him back. They'll spend big in the close season and a fifty-minute chubster who lives off odd moments of clappy football won't be on that shopping list because he'd be completely useless in the division above.

Shackleton here for another season fml, thought he was out of contract end of this season.
Id also keep baptiste and loan again, he has big potential.

Id also look at transfer listing chong if possible and Matos.

Da Silva is out with a long injury he did all lot in his knee ACL, MCL and meniscus other year and had 3 operations on his knee since for it. Also Brentford have an option of a further year.

Ross stewart is better than Dyke as free option target man (if Southampton dont offer him a contract extension).

I'd love to transfer list McGuinness, Chong & Matos but they're on long, probably decently paid, contracts and I think they'll be a tough ask to shift. You might be able to trick a promoted league one club into taking a risk but we'd probably have to take a decent loss on them.

Good shout with Stewart, I went for Dike purely because he's a bit younger and coming back from injury so has time to hit his peak again.

Sorry got confused between dyke and Dike 😂 not sure how as they dont look same.

Id still keep McGuinness as he is fine as a back up option for kick it and head it cb but the other 2, yeah im in same boat as you.. it will be hard but if we could.

I guess a lot of the outgoings, bar the loanees, could be to trim the wage bill,
T Davies, Hamer, Campbell must be on a good wage for starters, lots of poor signings in there Mcguinness, Matos, Chong, Cannon, Rothwell and the lesser spotted Shackleton and Grbik being the worse for me , whoever signed them I don't know
