Ha - great OG from Andy Gray (no, the other one) and the petulance from Sherringham after the Kelly save :D

Kevin Gage tweeted about the Scunthorpe match recently:- "Quite simply the best performance in the first half I've ever seen from a Blades team".

Well no Kevin, you played right back in the "best first half performance I've ever seen from a Blades team" and this was it!

I remember this well but for the wrong reason.
I'd been to quite a lot of home games that season, although I wasn't a ST holder. I had to decide whether to go to the match or play badminton on a 'club' night. Unfortunately I decided to play badminton! Kept going out to the car to listen to the radio commentary and was in heaven in hell as we won easily but I'd not gone to see it. I told myself we'd won 6-0 BECAUSE I hadn't gone to the game. :)

Didn't Venables also try to get the game postponed because they'd played a cup game two days earlier?

I've posted this before, but my daughter was going out with a lad whose dad was a Spurs fan. He was a bit posh and disapproved of my daughter going out with his beloved youngest. (The lad actually turned out to be a compulsive gambler, so I was quite glad when they split up, but this is by the by.)
Soooo, we were supposed to be going to the game with daughter and boyfriend, but our car packed up that day, so daughter's boyfriend persuaded his dad to take us.
I had a great time, but the journey home to Harrogate was one of stony silence. Never spoke to him again. :) or he me. Bovvered? Was I heck. They split soon after.

I remember it well - one thing that's staggering is that there were only 16,654 there that night - bizarre to think we're averaging more than that in the third division now but I guess it shows how much football has changed.

They didn't. They played QPR in the League on 26th Feb and us on 1st March, so a standard 3 day gap.

Correction. It was Sat 27th Feb and Tues 2nd March and then we both had a FA Cup Quarter Final the following weekend.
Blades v Blackburn on the Saturday and Spurs v Man City on the Sunday

P.S. Dont forget this is the team that had no skill and only ever played "Hoofball" as can be clearly seen from the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th goals.

I went to play badminton at Abbeydale that night, won the match, and sat in the bar watching the teletext accumulate.

At the time, a southerner was staying at my mates' house, a Spurs fan. He was a bit down on his luck at the time so me and a mate clubbed together to buy him a ticket.
As we were walking down Cemetery Road two blokes started arguing with one another. We didn't think much of it until one of them opened his coat to show his gun.

Anyway, got there a bit late, just as the first goal was going in. Being a pessimist I thought 'Spurs' lot sound loud' until we got into the Kop and realised we were ahead.

So, what was supposed to have been an act of kindness to a mate on his arse turned out to be the equivalent of water boarding him, as the poor fucker sat there with us and watched his side being dismantled.

An enjoyable watch for one of us younger Blades, especially when working with a Spurs fan (I use the word fan loosely)

I think you'll find it was because everyone was playing badminton.
