We can look back on some ,for us ,great years since league one. In the bigger picture we've been 'an also ran' and been a long way away from establishing in the top flight. Some may say we're one of the biggest underachievers in the past 90 years considering history, size of city and fanbase. In all these years the aim has surely always been multiple season in the topflight. In order to take forward steps we need good academy, owners and management that work together and investments beyond what we've seen before. So are we due an new era?

It’s a dream of mine that by the time I shuffle of this mortal coil, we make all the Premier League pundits uncomfortable in referring to Manchester United….As just United. If we are up there long enough…It might just happen.
At 74, I don't reckon I'll make it.

Since Man City found that fiver down the back of the sofa…I think we really are the biggest underachievers. But this makes our fanbase even more amazing. I live in the six fingered interland between Derby and Nottingham and I constantly tell them all, if any Sheffield club had the success that they’d had in the last 50 years we’d have stadiums with 40k for every match…

I can't see it, but then again I doubt Brentford, Brighton, Forest or Bournemouth fans could either.
Agree on the 3 Bs

Forest on the other hand, as self entitled as our swamp beasts over at s6 - must be something to do with living next to a river

3rd on shit list Behind pigs and Leeds
But cracking ground within walking distance of hooters🤷‍♂️

Forest are only where they are because of consistently exploiting the financial rules without necessarily breaking them. They sell academy players to their owners other club, Olympiakos, for over priced fees, which not only raises money for transfers but counts as profit for FFP. They did the same selling an academy player to Everton for an over inflated fee and bought one in return to help Everton out. They have had transfer embargos and docked points for essentially "cheating". I hate Forest with a passion, more so than Leeds and Wendy these days. I'd love to see them implode and get relegated.

Longest spell in the top division

1893 to 1934 - 37 seasons

1939 to 1949 - 3 seasons

1953 to 1956 - 3 seasons

1961 to 1968 - 7 seasons

1971 to 1976 - 5 seasons (my longest spell as a Blade fan)

1990 to 1994 - 4 seasons

2006 to 2007 - 1 season

2019 to 2021 - 2 seasons

2023 to 2024 - 1 season

More Southern clubs have prospered since the creation of the PL. I am now 63 and am getting more doubtful that I will see us have at least 3 successive seasons in the PL.
