Matt Spring has been released from his loan deal at Bramall Lane in order to pursue a long term move elsewhere.

The 29 year old midfielder was brought in on a year long loan from Luton in the summer, and has made eight league starts with two as a substitute, two in the cup, and scored one goal.

Harlow born Spring had an agreement with United that he could terminate the deal in the January transfer window if opportunities of permanent moves came his way.
