End of the day you don’t know any of the facts of the sponsorship deal or the process behind it.
Personally, I can’t imagine it’s an easy job persuading a company to hand over hundreds of thousands of pounds to sponsor United. So starting to get picky with petty things like it can’t be green isn’t going to help.
I can’t see it hitting sales that much, no kid will give a shit about the sponsor or white back, they just want a United shirt.
Of course, I don’t know. But then in fairness neither do you. We can only speculate.
I don’t disagree, it can’t be an easy job. But I would have thought it’s one of the main priorities for the non-football staff at the club, and is something they could be building towards throughout the year. In my eyes, it doesn’t make business sense to compromise the look of the shirt for the sake of a few extra thousand, hypothetically, which might be gained by procuring sponsorship in the way they have.
I think the impact on sales will be more substantial than you anticipate. But it’s all about opinions, and I respect yours.
