I don't know if any other Blades who went to the plasic bowl yesterday noticed, but I've a special word of praise for Garry Speed. I've never seen him so directly involved, he was up and down urging the players on throughout the game (no sign of Sam Ellis on the touch line as for a I could see BTW).

We were wondering on our way back just how much his greater involvement, influence and experience has has on our great run?

Thoughts?

Speed's knowledge and experience are invaluable, he has the respect of his fellow professionals as someone who has 'been there done that and got the t shirt'. Sam Ellis usually sits in the stands to get a different view and perspective on the game.

Good to see Gary Speed getting really involved with the team on the touchline.

He's been knocking around the bench for a while now... I mentioned somewhere else, KB in an interview almost slipped up and called him his "assistant" before checking himself.

Speed was greatly involved on Tuesday night too... and seems to be very passionate about the team and doing well (to the extent of the fourth official man-marking him at times :D)

I think his experience is pure gold for us right now, he has been there and done it in football at the highest level, long may he continue to be involved
