.......... the fans of the next club that the useless plank gets a job at.

Amidst all the euphoria of this weekend, let us all think of our fellow football fans. If he is linked with any jobs the chairman of said club need only pick up the phone to me to get a frank and honest assessment from a fan.

If Blackwell gets another job at a half decent club I'll be astonished but you never know.

It's a low blow to kick a man when he's down.

You could also spare a thought for a bloke who's given his all for the club for 2 1/2 years and was unceremoniously dumped yesterday. Highly paid blah, blah, blah I agree and I'm not saying we should feel sorry for him but there's no real delight in seeing someone who generally did his best getting the sack.

Regardless of what you think of him and his tactics, his record is still good and I'd be surprised if he's not back in a job by the end of the season.

he will concentrate on his building firm I think. Maybe we have seen the last of him in football.

Give it a rest. You're just sounding like a bitter loon now. There will be a few clubs at a lower level that will appreciate his record.

I'm sure a quick look at his bank balance will sooth the pain. He still won't be anywhere near as happy as I am though.

He'd given up Jim, read his Hartlepool comments. Best for all parties. No sympathy needed.

I hereby promise that this string will be my last pop at him.

Up The Blades

Yours might be higher than mine, wouldn't make it any better if I mocked you for losing your job would it? :)

Good luck to Kevin Blackwell. He did his best. There are always two sides to every story. But I go on what I see and hear. The king is dead, long live the new king.

Apparantly he was a very hard working manager who spent hours working and preparing, and no doubt he tried his hardest.

I think his style and football philosophy is very dated though. He's learned from Warnock, though he lacks the charisma and maybe you need that to get away with obvious tactical weaknesses.

I personally don't think he's confident enough to take gambles on players, hence him always going for experienced, "proven" players, preferably players with Premiership experience. Have we ever had a manager who've made so many of his signings from the top division? We've had loads of trialists, but the only foreigners he's gone for is Jihai, Ertl and Bogdanovic, all of whom had played in England for years before they were signed. I hope our new manager will keep more of an open mind and have a bit more vision.

All will become clearer over the next 6 months when we see where he ends up.
It was apparant that we would not progress under his tenure as manager and therefore what has happened was inevitible.
I would doubt very much that there will be any clubs in the Prem or championship who will offer him a managers job. It is more likely he will end up with a League 1 club in trouble towards the end of the season or a league 2 club.
Good luck to the new manager whoever he turns out to be, we MUST all get behind him to take the club forward. (unless its sMegson in which case I'm packing in football).

Well said that man.

He's had deserved stick off the fans but did McC's work well for him and will no doubt deliver well for another chairman in the future.

Pity McC's requirements were so different to the fans.

Any club that requires a season turning around in an instant can turn to Blackwell. Except us ;)

Being paid well doesn't soften the pain of failing at something, if anyone thinks Blackwell didn't try his best they are badly mistaken.

It's one thing not to good enough for a role its quite another to say he didn't try?

Uncalled for Micaljo in my opinion. You've got what you wanted, just move on.

I think he did his best in very difficult circumstances, his best players sold from uder him, probably Birch picking new players and a budget, although huge in terms of ordianry folk, but tiny in footballing terms.

I wish him well.

Birch picking new players? Maybe Bogdanovic was a signing similar to Haber, Li Tie, Haidong etc, but him apart I think Blackwell was given a budget for him to decide how to spend it - wages and transfer fees.

Where and when have I said he didn't try? He tried very hard, and got very well paid for it.
I have alot of sympathy for hard working people who lose their job and face huge financial problems. Has happened to alot of people I know and it aint pleasant. Will no doubt happen to me at some stage but I won't get paid off. Blackwell losing his job is totally different scenario for me. Yes he'll be sick and disappointed so in that sense I am out of order but he'll get over it alot easier than the people I know, I think he will anyway.

Tiny in football terms? try telling that to the Scunny, Peterborough managers etc. I think our budget is still very decent in comparison to alot of our rivals in the division.

I hope you are right Mica, personally I would be gutted if I lost my job when I was trying my best. No one likes admitting defeat and no amount of money would remove that sting for me.

I will spare my thoughts for the club that he takes over, when they are probably in the shit near the bottom of the league and he takes them into the top ten, then the play off final, then has his best players sold from under him. Give it a rest now for fucks sake! I'd had enough of him at the end and his dire hoofball tactics, but frank, honest, assessment says that he did quite well all considered.

For the love of God... Enough!

It's nice to see that the Sunshine Band don't have a total monopoly on here - and that there are still Blades willing to show some decency and keep some perspective. I was begining to depair!

Sorry Mic, but for the most part even when I don't agree with your argument I can see that you have a point or your point (no matter how much you bang on) is well argued.

But got to say that to keep having a dig at Blackwell now that he has gone is too low.

He's gone and you're happy, but theres no need to keep having a pop.

He may not have been everyones cup of tea, but he gave his all even if he was misguided

Thanks Mr Blackwell and goodbye
