As well as playing really well, he's the one who pushes players forward to receive their dues from the fans, you can tell he's a leader and a positive influence, he doesn't make it all about him, which I think is good context for his character considering a lot of the assumptions made by fans last season.

He was great first half. Looked tired in the first half of the second half. He was absolutely magnificent after we went a goal down. Drove us on and led the press. He was shouting and pointing and leading others. Getting people up the pitch and to work harder. Total warrior mentality.

What a change from last season. I thought he was a twat last season but looking back it was unjustified, he was getting accustomed to a new culture, a new squad, a new language, a new city. Regardless of what I thought of him, he's been great to start this season, dare I say better than Hamer, this season at least.

Can't wait to see him run rings around the balding twat named Barry.

He’s certainly impressing this season.
Effort, quality, focus, enthusiasm, attitude - all a huge improvement & it’s brilliant to see.
What I’ve noticed is how much talking he does. Every break in play, he’s in someone’s ear, especially the youngsters.
Guessing it’s a bit of encouragement, maybe some onfield coaching - whatever it is he looks like he’s enjoying his football.
I also love how he waves his arms about after a near miss or puts his head in his hands.
Keep it up Vini !!

Nick Montgomery with a fancy name.

Which is more of a slight on Monty as I think he's the better out of the two based on the games I've seen him in so far

I would like to make a public apology for this absolute shite I posted on this forum about the demi-god that is Vinícius de Souza Costa.

The greatest turnaround in a SUFC career, possibly only Coutts come close to it.

He helped defuse what could have potentially become a bit of a flash point yesterday when the hair weave kid made his stupid challenge. He's become a completely different player from last season, more composed, bit more level headed and I have no doubt if last seasons Vini was on the pitch yesterday, he'd probably have been sent off at some point.
Don't suppose we'll never know what CW said to him pre season, but it'd be interesting to hear.

He should be captain instead of Blaster

Bob Booker. Was a fucking carthorse who got the piss took out of him and turned into a beast who we all loved. However Souza nips it for me. What a midfield general!

Probably told him :
1. We're not selling you ;
2. It's your career , so get on with it , if you want success , be it here or elsewhere

It's weird how the few seconds extra Vini gets in the Champ have turned him 180 degrees from being bang average in Prem , to now irreplaceable, he has transformed into calmness personified. Without doubt player of the season so far and such a joy to watch.

Best tackler
Always available
Never loses ball
Calm

There is nothing out there in Champ that I'd swap for. Hopefully us fans are the only ones watching him.
He's also got a better midfield and defence around him regardless of what division we're playing in. This team would take last seasons "Premier League" team to the cleaners

Love the guy.

He is THE one player that we have to keep at the club and to pay the biggest contract to.

He will take us to the Premier League and galvanise the whole squad.

We have to become a club that stops selling its star players or else well just keep yo yoing between Championship/ Prem.

Hopefully the new owners will have the vision to stabilise the management/coaches/squad and get us competitive enough to compete.

Though he won't go down in Blades history, Jamie Murphy had a heck of a turnaround as well. All I remember from his first few games was his propensity for running the ball out of play.

Souza has had the best zero to hero turnaround since 16/17 Paul Coutts and Keiron Freeman, both of whom were transfer listed by CW, pretty sure Brayford was our starting RB/RWB in those first few games.

He’s been imperious this season and deserves all the credit he’s getting.

But the idea he’s leadership material is premature. Let’s see how he reacts when we’re in a bad run again. Does he stand up or does he lose discipline? There’s still the occasional arm waving blamey response when teammates mess up.

For two thirds of the last promotion season, Norwood showed what leadership was. It’s holding things together when others are struggling. Be the 8/10 player when everyone else is at 5.

Vini is good enough to be that.

If Souttar is captain of the defence , then Souza is captain of the midfield & attack.
The pair of them inspired that fightback at Bristol.
We need promotion , if only to buy the former + keep the latter.
I agree with everything you say, but I would add that both Souza and Souttar will need and expect more from each other, if the blades win promotion, and the club buys Souttar.

Repeating this here in case it get's missed from other thread. I don't think it was obvious on TV as not many people talking about it other than those at the game....

"Seen it mentioned in bits around socials, but Souza was in real trouble with his groin. Couldn't run properly and couldn't kick it without wincing greatly and needing a moment afterwards. I watched just him for the remaining minutes of the game once I saw him go down. It's really not good. I've done my groin before, and it all came flooding back when I recognised how he was running stiff legged to try to not use the muscle. You don't usually do that if it's just a mild strain. I don't think he will be playing again this week as a minimum. Groins do not heal rapidly at all.

I'm guessing we will drop Hamer in alongside Peck. Peck to do the Vini role. Hamer the more playmaking, advancing CM. O'Hare in the 10 and Brooks on the LW?

That's not good news at all. Hamer doesn't last games so I would guess Shackleton would be brought into do the job?

Or Hamer does it for 60 minutes then Shackleton or Davies come on for 30.

Really hope this is wrong.
He's our most important player, even more so now Arblaster is out for the season.

Think he will be good for Tuesday. Just posted on his insta doing some fitness work and the word Tuesday
