Any chance they will end up with a worse record than ours last season.

After 9 games we were 2nd from bottom with 1 point and minus 17 GD

Southampton after 9 games are currently bottom with 1 point and minus 13 GD

Our goal difference last season was record breakingly bad, Saints would have to go some to beat that

They’ll get a new manager and improve enough to beat us by a fair bit.

Whilst we only picked up 1 point before that first win on 4th Nov, we mostly didn’t lose games by more than a goal in that early part of the season, Newcastle apart at the end of sept which killed the gd. We were staying in games. The Arsenal game at the end of Oct where we then shipped 5 seemed to compound things

Southampton are still -13 goals and we were -22 by this weekend also on 1 point. In two games we shipped 13 goals.

Southampton and their failure to adapt could easily lose big in a couple of games to knock their GD

Also interesting that there are 4 sides without a win as well, one of those being palace who are currently 1-0 up against spurs as I write

I reckon they'll beat it easily, far better players than we had last season, can't see them struggling with the calibre of Cameron Archer and BBD up top.

Ive a southampton mate and he thinks there going to get the german boy wonder,no idea why they would go down that route but it would be nice

Southampton have the means to make change far more than we did. So I reckon they’ll do better this season.

Not sure what's happened to Brereton Diaz, did well pre season for them but suddenly not even the squad. Thought he may have been injured but no mention of it and now playing for their U21s.

Hard to say, I think a lot of it will depend on how long they keep Russell Martin for ( surely he won't last the season) and if he keeps up with his current tactics, which are the cause of most of their problems.

I don't think they've been smashed by anyone yet though, we'd already lost 8-0 to Newcastle and 5-0 to Arsenal (I think) by this point last season.

Would take him on loan again in a heartbeat.

Although Soton are more likely to have a new manager before January.

Correct, it was this weekend last season that we lost 5-0 to Arsenal and we’d already lost to Newcastle
