Hard to say, I think a lot of it will depend on how long they keep Russell Martin for ( surely he won't last the season) and if he keeps up with his current tactics, which are the cause of most of their problems.

I don't think they've been smashed by anyone yet though, we'd already lost 8-0 to Newcastle and 5-0 to Arsenal (I think) by this point last season.
Last time Southampton were in the premier they lost at home to Leicester 9-0

Regardless of what Soton do, they will never be hated like we are in London, the West Ham cheating scandal that we refused to take still stings some at the BBC..

And without naming him, a certain presenter is a two bob aresehole, and always will be..

Not sure what's happened to Brereton Diaz, did well pre season for them but suddenly not even the squad. Thought he may have been injured but no mention of it and now playing for their U21s.
He’s such an obvious loan signing, with a view to a perm of promoted.

Completely underappreciated at Southampton whereas he was well liked here, thrived and also a more conventional left sided player who can play as a striker would be the perfect boost in January.

Regarding our points total it will soon be clear it wasn’t an anomaly. There are 3 teams currently averaging less than half a point per game. Then add to the fact when they have no hope left they’ll start getting trounced every week.

No hope left we won that one we got there in September 😂😂😂

Does it really matter ? concentrate on the here and now
From a football perspective, I actually think it does, a huge amount - It highlights how common teams it could be that teams come up and struggle and how wide the gap is between the two levels now, and how clubs should strategise for this for P&S purposes.

As a fan after the last c.86 top level games(post COVID), I would happily see us finish 7th every year and beat that lot twice and never see us in the league again, but as a supporter, I want the club to be the best they can be and if that means a few tough years yo-yoing may not be a bad thing if we can make ourselves a lot more sustainable and commercially viable. It's an interesting one!

I read a rumour that a certain German nanager from the South Barnsley area might be in line to replace Russell Martin.

I mean I like that it takes the media’s minds off our performances last season but surely we don’t want this every year. A different promoted whipping boy for the league to laugh at all season. Maybe some post traumatic stress from last year but I feel for Southampton
Comms said they’re struggling to think of such a one sided half of football… clearly erased their memory of our season

And no doubt they'll be at the top.of the Championship next season
Frightening the difference in quality

I agree with the above but the below makes me want them to be the butt of the jokes from now on.
Just had a look myself, can't hear anyone taking piss out of soton like we got.

It doesn't matter if Southampton get less points than us, score less goals, and concede more goals

They still won't be as bad as that scruffy fucking Northern club from the season before

Football fans are generally thick as pigshit so they will believe whatever spin the southern dominated media will put on it
